colin....how come you would be appalled if redknapp came in and replaced an "honourable man" like adkins.. are you saying by mentioning honourable, that redknapp isnt..? surely, it matters not what arry is like as his views are his own and he would in no way, represent you or the club but himself.. same if Di Canio came...surely his personal beliefs would have zero bearing on your opinions of him.. what would you feel if a player was found to be a staunch supporter of the BNP...would you be happy with that..? you have to be as you state that they represent themselves and not the club..

agree....in the history of this country...the World Wars are still very recent...relatively speaking.. in the latter, our parents and grand parents stood alone in the world and stood up to the most evil that humans could muster...we stood there and said no fecking way.....we stood there, out gunned, out numbered and under equipped....the poppy appeal represents the very very best of what this country stood for, not for ourselves, or the old empire. but the world we all know today...it also reminds us of the very and utterly disgusting worst that humanity can be....and it can be defeated against all odds...so no, the poppy appeal should never ever be forgotten or be used as a political stick IMO, it can never be too much trouble to doff my cap, wear a bit of plastic and chuck a few quid into the pot as my way of saying thank you very much for basically giving up your generation so I can have mine and moan about everything in life that you cant have. that should never ever be too much trouble and what McClean did was disgusting and a massive insult to the people in sunderland IMO
-
such a poor reasoning...really is.. im not saying he should be made to do anything...just thought he could have shown more respect to the people of sunderland... and reading what I have..it seems nearly all sunderland fans think so....
-
the poppy appeal and all that represents is such an incredible part of our immediate past and to a lesser degree, the present..of the UK he would have been fully aware that he would have upset many many that pay his unbelievable lifestyle... im sure many footballers have certain views that hardly would agree with and just once a year, wear a bit of clothing for nothing more than a bit of respect to the people of sunderland who have lost loved ones around the world this year...the people that USED to go to the stadium of light and pur some of the hard earned wedge to pay for his next ferrari...
-
not really a point..the general feeling is that a player playing for sunderland and being paid (generally) by sunderland fans is representing sunderland, its people and the town...just like we would not want certain characters or what ever playing for saints as they would represent us so many are more than angry with his actions...so no, they dont feel like he can do what he likes....he cant do many things being a premier league footballer...a sacrifice for his utterly incredible wages should not be be a great deal to ask for....but many are absolutely furious with him
-
because it obviously means a great deal to thousands of people that stand there and fund his ridiculous wages..... edit, just looked on a sunderland message board and they have been talking about this at great length...about 99% are appalled by him..
-
our signings are long term......apparently
-
i was being sarcastic..as so so many on here aid carroll was utter garbage at the time he signed for west ham
-
bet allardyce could
-
so, replacing adkins with someone (regardless how good) with prem experience could be a huge positive..?
-
and IMO. its not too much to ask in your sorry life to wear a little red thing for a day or two and shut up for 2 mins once a year...... nothing too much at all..people are free to do what they like..but IMO, those that chose not to are sticking two fingers up to the people that allowed them to have that choice...there is very little political about it..just ignorance.. like they have a freedom not to wear such a symbol, I am free to think they are disgusting human beings
-
I think you are a massive cvnt if you decide not to wear one....nothing personal
-
I dont really see how our vision of being bottom, and shipping goals like it is going out of fashion is a long term one...where as they will more than likely stay up and improve their squad,....yet that is a short term vision just do not get it what so ever
-
not really a great deal to do with anything..we were better than them for about every game last season....we beat them and drew against them and most were in agreement that they were terrible, have a terrible manager that plays hoofball and will probably go down.... they have hardly signed anyone of any note.....IMO
-
drew 0-0 last weeks against man city..where they had a perfectly good goal disallowed....
-
fair points...but they are in the run of their tough fixtures...so far, 4 points from 2 games....where our fans would have them written off after getting soundly beaten...
-
last season they were (apparently) really really rubbish play rubbish football with an utterly terrible manager carroll is utter garbage and collins is a joke. however, they are sitting nicely near the top end of the league with yet another win...4 points from 2 fixtures many saints fans would have written off completely.... they have hardly bought in worldys as players what are they doing differently...what are they doing that is massively more successful than us..? have we gotten THAT bad..? or have they gotten that much better than us.. crazy that in a few months, how things have changed..
-
that god awful west ham with their utterly terrible manager are winning again.. ffs
-
he is....almost their back line out...an utterly crap performance from them and we hardly troubled their keeper a turning point..yes offers little hope really as we needed to win that game. huge game next week and I cant help worry about QPRs pace will cause us no end of problems pretty tragic for our hopes of surviving when you are trying to point score about only keeping the 11th place team to a draw...at home...when they were terrible and have been pretty terrible on the road nearly all season.. we should have and needed to win yesterday, you know it, I know it
-
did danny granham play..? add him to their list.. http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_mobile_host.htm isnt that most of their back 5...? we hardly troubled their keeper....
-
it was OK..we still hardly troubled their keeper and they are hit big time with injuries....and we still made our in game howler
-
and he has said time and time again that he is
-
you talk so much crap.....
-
They had a load of injuries. We never
