A lot of Sky pundits came up with the idea of 'free hit' games last season and this is one of those. We have nothing to lose. Not expected to win, expected to be thrashed. Go out there, attack, give it a good go, and who knows what may happen? If we lose, we lose! Just look what QPR managed at the end of last season at the Ethiad...

We didn't know at that point that we would end up being such a quality Championship side and him not being up to the standard. Thats what happened. League 1 was too easy for him, Championship, much more realistic and much more of a struggle numerous times for him.

Is scared ****less an option?! A couple of weeks ago, I couldn't wait, as we've got closer, i'm hoping it doesn't start for another month or so yet!! We just aren't quite ready for the challenge IMO. Another couple of 'easier' friendlies would be ideal to get confidence in the side and score some goals but we have to go with what we've got so far. Gonna be a brilliant season no doubt, but need to get the first 6 or so games out of the way before I can begin to enjoy it!

Well he does because according to NA, we've contacted the chairman of Blackpool, spoke their chief executive and Adkins has even had a chat with their manager. An illegal approach is going directly to the player in a private meeting. Going by his comments, it doesn't seem we've done that?

There is a 'ITK' dude on Twitter saying it was us but also some other tweets last night after the story broke that it was Villa and not Saints. As I said, it is a rumour but Adkins has now added more fuel to it by his comments tonight.

I did say earlier there was a rumour doing the rounds that it was infact Villa who 'tapped him up' and we had made an official enquiry/bid and Adkins comments tonight only go to add more substance to that.

I cant see Adkins and Crosby suddenly dropping the new formation in favour of a stagnant, out of date one after working on it since the start of July! the 4-3-2-1 is here to stay by the look of things.

Yeah but you cant tell me that 30,000 other Saints fans have gone to the Olympics?! I would've gone to more than just the Liebherr cup but for the prices placed on the fixtures - no chance! Didn't go to Ajax as it was on TV. The games have been just too expensive. Lower the price, get more in and recoup whatever you lost on ticket sales by people buying from concourse and club shop. Big mistake made IMO.
