Hmm.. interesting starting line-up. Very much mix and match. Good chance for Stephens to prove his worth at CB and Gazzaniga in goal. Big chance for Hammond at CM and another go for Puncheon. officialsaints: #SaintsFC starting XI vs Wolves: Gazzaniga, Clyne, Stephens, Hooiveld, Fox, Chaplow, Hammond ©, Lallana, Guly, Puncheon, Sharp.

People taking the same attitude with Berra as they are with Scott Dann - just because they got relegated, this means they must be shi*t? Ok, they were part of a relegated team with a poor defensive record but there are others in the back line. Maybe, just maybe, the whole team might be to blame, not the one person? I think as a squad addition, he'd be a decent signing but as SNSUN said, we'd need at least 1 to come in to replace Fonte. That'd leave Hooiveld and NEW CB as first choice pairing, Fonte and Berra as backup and Seaborne out on loan. Would be good enough for the first season at least IMO. -

And it is now LIVE! http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/Home Credit where it is due, site is very snappy and responsive and I like the background images. So far so good...

The problem with this is the contract that all of the clubs are in. We all know that Cortese has said that as soon as we can get out of it then we will but until that point, we're stuck with the same as everyone else. It's exactly the same as the Peterborough chairman said on Twitter yesterday.

Every club who is part of FLi (Football League Interactive) and currently have the standard / common design site, are in the process of redesigning using the new templates and moving to the new provider - SapientNitro. I know that Burnley and Bristol City are still sorting out the links, redesigning and figuring out how it works. This therefore means that we should still, in theory, be able to use our Saints Player logins on other clubs sites. EDIT: Just checked and I can still login to the other clubs updated sites with my Saints Player login. All good!

There will eventually be a mobile site (out in September) but they're holding them back for the time being until all of the main websites are rolled out.
-
Fair enough. See Coventry have now launched theirs. Their site is pretty snappy compared to the other ones currently out there.

+1 !!! Stupidly annoying and crap! Reset it 3 different times now! Log in with temp password, fine, change to new password, log out, log in with new password, ERROR! I can log in fine with the latest temporary password they've sent me so im gonna leave it for a bit and then wait until the weekend and try changing it again. Awful

This part cant be true then? As we haven't launched yet, Burnley haven't, Bristol City haven't, Coventry haven't etc what happens? I know that Cortese has previously said that as soon as we can get out of the contract then we will but what about the other clubs now that we're past the supposed 'launch deadline'?

Saints reportedly interested in Japanese centre back Maya Yoshida who plays for VVV Venlo in Holland. He is currently playing in the Olympics with Japan http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/vvv-venlo-confirm-premier-league-interest-southampton-fulham-target-maya-yoshida-3423161 -
He wont be in the squad as according to this article published this morning, he has lost contact with Vitesse and they arent looking to use him at all but his agent says that he will try and get him back in the squad. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ad.nl%2Fad%2Fnl%2F5610%2FNederlands-voetbal%2Farticle%2Fdetail%2F3294821%2F2012%2F08%2F01%2FButtner-wil-zich-wel-verzoenen-met-Vitesse.dhtml%3Futm_source%3DRSSReader%26utm_medium%3DRSS The piece basically confirms that we agreed a fee of over 4 million but he has been reporting to the Vitesse youth team each day for training. Seems Benali-Shorts may have been posting wrong information as according to this, the deal seems dead.

I have noticed that. He only seems to get to halfway and then stops. He proved he can get forward and beyond wide man in the Derby game with the free flowing move where he provided the cross for Lallana to volley home. If he was to get forward more often then as you said, he'd be fantastic. -

Agree with the energy part. Seems to tire in games late on but its something that can be worked on with a proper pre season. Also people say his defending isnt too good? I thought he did pretty well against Ajax at the weekend against top quality oppostion and wingers. Also the new formation will help out both full backs with extra support and cover. -

I know alot on here don't rate Fox but he will be key this season. When you make the step up to PL, set pieces are crucial and if you can score goals from set pieces (e.g Stoke in first season) then it takes the pressure off the rest of the team in open play. Fox's crossing, corners and free kicks will create alot of chances for Lambert, Rodriguez, Hooiveld, Fonte etc over the course of the season and this could well be the difference between comfortably staying up and just scraping it on final day. If we were to sign Dann, that'd add extra height to set pieces and more dominance. It will be a key part of us this season I think. -
