All the more of a shame we fielded such s***e in Denmark.
-
Thought he was shaky under pressure; often reacting to -rather than anticipating- situations. Not sure how much that was due to poor communication. Still he wasn't as bad as Fonte and Yoshida.
-
Hadn't seen Barney Ronay's description of VVD's performance: Am sure he'll get better.
-
Clasie is like the elephant and the blind men, everyone's emphasising a different aspect of his game in the hope we're a more balanced side overall. For some, he's the creative link behind the front three; for others, he's a holding player alongside Wanyama or Romeu. In my view, we'll still be having this conversation at the end of the season.

It's not basically Clyne three years ago. Clyne arrived as a far more accomplished defender - if anything was weak, it was his one onefootedness and decision-making in the final third. Clyne has always looked like a fullback.

Ditto pal. Maybe you'd like to look over your own posting style "don't say that too loudly" - sly and cattish, all while trying to take the moral high ground. Seems to be a running modus operandi of yours.
-
Well, whenever we attempt to discuss stats, it goes over your head; or break down particular footage, you go curiously quiet. On the other hand, it appears that you do understand some things....

Brilliant log, pal And each time, your cherrypicked examples have been shown to be moronic exaggerations (your Arnhem example is still pi€€ poor, as demonstrated at the time) and you fail to hold a similar mirror up to other players. Yoshida isn't amazing and I certainly wouldn't want to rely on him as an every week starter. He is liable for a good gaffe. But not with the same frequency as you imply all while putting in some good shifts. But hey, you and several others have been gunning for him ages and simpletons need scapegoats. #toddlerswithmachetes

Nobody's writing Cedric off; rather its that we clearly needed a player who could come in and do a job straight away, even if he was unlikely to match the high standards of his predecessor. That's not Cedric's fault; that's the responsibility of recruitment. The irony, if you believe reports, is that the club itself had concerns about Cedric and initially saw him as an understudy or backup to Clyne.

Villa are always good value.
-
You're still persisting with your ridiculous Fellaini point and Yoshida was picked because he's taller? Good lad
-
The way the back 4 and DMs dropped off and we surrendered possession in the second half, nearly letting a very average side back into the game. Koeman doesn't deliberately set us up that way; but its a fine line you tread when a team is set up conservatively, seemingly more concerned about the opposition and isnt high in confidence.
-
Thought our second half performance against Arnhem (h) wasn't too dissimilar.
-
Who's that pal?
-
A foot taller? No it isn't obvious pal. You're confusing today with the Europa League games, two other big games Cedric wasn't trusted for. No today was about Depay's pace and the RB in one-on-ones. So a RB isn't trusted against physical players; he isn't trusted against pacy, tricky players. Kind of wonder what he can be trusted for

Utter garbage. The game was nothing like last year, at least in terms of our fleeting dominance. United had a ten minute spell before the equaliser where we hardly touched the ball. Still not sure if they wised up to our rudimentary tactics of going long and targeting the gap between Rojo/Blind or we moved away from it as we dropped off, which wouldnt be inconsistent with the way we've played in the past under Koeman. Not sure what Yoshida did for the first goal (Fonte went awol and VVD got turned like a kipper); but hey simpletons need scapegoats. While Yoshida's mistake for the second was a howler plain and simple; our entire back four looked shaky. But I guess that's difficult to admit when you've spent the summer denigrating others transfer business and backslapping our own. Of course, it begs the question why none of the new signings have made positions their own and we've been squeezing square pegs into round holes.
-
You're a complete fVkwit; but, hey, whatever a happy clapper has to do to avoid asking more fundamental questions.
-
Why? It was working till we stopped exploiting the space between Blind and Rojo and Mane for some reason was moved to the right. Above all, we went negative after our opener; the entire four dropped off, helped by Wanyama and Romeu and compounded by individual mistakes. Yoshida's was the standout; but cumulatively Fonte had a poorer game, with VVD not far behind. Soares would have added little, except defensive limitations, if the rest of the side wasn't being more positive.
-
FB is not the reason we're losing the game; but hey simpletons simplify and scapegoat.
-
Fonte all over the place.
-
Fonte should have done better. Still offside.
-
Who was it -S-Clarke?- who spent the summer, ridiculing West Ham's transfer business?
-
Which one? Chris Evans or Charles Kennedy?
-
Agree. Usual sheep in denial that there was a window of opportunity last summer, as Cork's father made clear at the time -and for whatever reason, we missed it. I'd have slightly more respect for them if they simply argued that he wasn't good enough for us, though they'd still be wrong.
