And when Lambert had his purple patch for England, those who 'dared' point out the quality of the opposition or any other dampener were accused of 'heresy' against the great man.
-
There is though can't remember the views you were knocking as somehow unbalanced.
-
One minute you're taking the **** out of mongboarders for not 'worshipping' the likes of Lambert enough (when Osvaldo arrived); the next you're taking the **** out of those who 'worship' him too much. Which is it pal?
-
We should have. We outplayed them. Twice.

Got an email address?

A friend has pulled out, so have a spare in the away end for £35. No promises but PM me if you're interested.

While the Jan window can be abused, it does have its advantages in terms of integrating a player, especially if you're comfortably midtable. It can also be easier to coax a player away from a team that no longer has anything to play for which isn't the case in the summer when teams are uncertain whether they're going to be fighting relegation or chasing honours. The implicit assumption, moreover, is that you can do all your business nice and early in the summer and crack on. Things rarely transpire that way and it's utter b*****ks for higher profile players. The reality is that things go down to the wire, messing up preseason and making it more difficult to gel a team.

Give it up pal. He played well against Arsenal and posters have made you look silly.

Talking about the situations that led them to come to England - they were either chased out or unwanted in their own countries.
-
Same here. Thought the Cantona/DiCanio/Ginola effect would rub off on him -that he would come to England, a country that has a habit of turning outsiders into cult heroes and would be thankful to leave behind the politicking and cynicism of the continental game. At one point, I did think he genuinely wanted to make it here but was undone by his lack of progress and impact. And rather than roll his sleeves up and fight, he decided to run.
-
Like he gives a f**k - thought he was too good for us and will probably toe the line now he's at a club he believes is worthy of his talents.
-
Trenty, you're hardly DH Lawrence either.

Act a c**t, get what you want. A lesson in there somewhere.

Seeing who could take down the most birds and planes?

People overlooking the significance of getting Astori - would suggest that KL is serious about building on what we have. Less the case with a striker which is a direct replacement for Osvaldo - one-in-one-out which doesn't involve a net gain. Symbolically any Astori deal would speak absolute volumes.
-
Got a lot of undeserved stick. At the end of the day, we outgrew him. It happens.
-
A winger? Must be BS.
-
This - and to think of all the money they've spunked to end up where they are.
-
You remind me of Gareth, though he was in permanent employment and did seem to have some hobbies.
-
Them West Ham and Cardiff to go down please.

TBF we were the better side in the league cup -as we were in both league games and the visit to your place last season- so it wouldn't have taken many changes to get something. But have no complaints about the side we put out -happy to rotate and keep the squad players 'match fit' as we've had to rely on them with our mounting injuries (FA cup is a different matter). Fair play for what you did against Chelsea and Man U - we would have been very lucky to get past them. Looking forward to the game - will be my 4th trip up in 9 months. Your luck has to run out some time.

I know big sam is a bit of a lege in these parts with the divs. Mourinho's claim that they play "19th century football" is almost a complement by their agricultural standards. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2548381/West-Ham-play-19th-century-football-wed-need-drill-wall--Chelsea-boss-Mourinho-fumes-Big-Sams-negative-tactics.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 And its not just Chelsea - they do it every week.

He comes from Borehamwood...

Just hope we don't get quagliarella
