  1. If JJ’s not threatening legal action against posters -and of course violence or running off crying to the mods, he’s making a total fool of himself on these threads. Still I find him good value
  2. Les crashing out again.
  3. JJ- got some piano wire ready for the traitors from the ERG who are going to sell you down the river?
  4. whoosh (it was meant sarcastically).... Are you a JRM or candace owens fan by any chance pal?
  5. PM me if you need any help. The lines of communication are always open pal.
  6. Not sure about that characterisation of JRM - a fair number of his supporters are thick, unapologetic racists. Not surprising when you’re happily hanging around with alt- or far-right figures like Candace Owens who inspired the shooter behind yesterday’s carnage in NZ or attending dinners with groups calling for the repatriation or black Britons.
  7. Les - how’s Sunderland this morning?
  8. I can see little Les getting behind a bojo speech like this. https://www.ft.com/content/45005008-464a-11e9-b168-96a37d002cd3
  9. To be fair, I wouldn't put much stock in his manifesto. It's chockablock with references to altright figures like Candace Owens, the regressive left's march through our institutions. I'm just surprised there isn't a pepe in an aussie flag in there. Remember these are just classical liberals standing up for their freedom of speech, not violent racist murderers.
  10. I hear Maidstone is in lockdown. It might be a while. https://www.kentonline.co.uk/maidstone/news/fake-cop-arrested-200718/
  11. Quiet thread. You'd think there's a game on tomorrow
  12. Les seems a bit confused. He stresses the importance of mitigating business uncertainty yet that's precisely why companies are desperate for a transitional period. Of course this is the same transitional period that would require the UK to comply with EU regulation which Les is also railing against (mindful that the transitional period, as it says on the tin, is temporary and is endorsed by hard brexiter initiatives like the malthouse compromise). Its hard to avoid the conclusion that Les position is both internally inconsistent and more swivel-eyed than the swiveliest of swivel-eyes (shout out portugalsaint). Which basically sums up the poor fella in a nutshell
  13. I love the halfwits on radio and TV who claim that they initially voted remain but would now vote leave, even though they sound more swivel-eyed than the swiveliest of swivels. Nice try fellas
  14. Have City, Chelsea or United sold anyone in the same price range as Coutinho?
  15. Of course, you were Les. You've embarrassed yourself time and time again on the subject, insisting how we could have negotiated a Canada +++ (because of some throwaway words from Tusk).
  16. I suspect there's a majority for it in Parliament which indicative votes should uncover. As for the public, it's symptomatic of a hardening of attitudes (on both sides) which has taken on a life of its own, divorced from peoples own priorities and their understanding of the issues. Nobody can maintain with a straight face that having the power to set and decide one's own tariffs was the number one reason -or even a decisive reason for leaving back in 2016 -ahead of immigration, budget contributions and the regulatory obligations of the single market.
  17. Frankly I don’t see the drama over the backstop, especially as the EU originally requested that it apply only to NI. Worse comes to worst, the UK joins a permanent CU, obviating the need for the backstop while reclaiming de jure control over the things that people really cared about when they voted leave. In the meantime, the backstop gives coffin-dodgers the opportunity to work up and demonstrate the feasibility of their preferred technological solution.
  18. Worst deal in history? Behave you old f**t.
  19. The dream’s slipping away Les. FACT.
  20. Hello Les. As you've acknowledged, conventional wisdoms and allegiances are breaking down. Participation in EP elections has always attracted the eurosceptic headbangers, the hardcore jihadists who've been waging war with the EU for years while the rest of us have got on contentedly with our lives (I've never voted in the EP elections). Now Europe as an issue has gone mainstream, it's quite possible that participation and representation may be a little less skewed. My pal, Andrew Adonis, is already saying that the Euro elections will be a symbolic referendum on stopping Brexit - something which he would have never said in the past.
  21. Les, you're getting excitable again, old boy.
  22. The malthouse compromise - the iago falque of parliamentary motions. #rip
