Wickham appears more likely to score goals than Gallagher at the moment IMO. Sam needs to be playing more frequently and competitively to step up and a loan move to a lower league club would help.

Yep my thoughts entirely - unsettle a couple of their players.

What I detest about hacks like Samuels is that they always go for the easy story and regurgitate old news as if there's some kind of new angle, rather than go after the root cause of the decline of English football or the top 4 teams illegally tapping up players for example. It's lazy rubbish at best.

I've got a gut feeling that both will be fantastic for us if Koeman can integrate them into the team well and repair the spirit that has been so important over the last 4-5 years. Lambert was a real leader (a reason Lallana probably felt so lost and isolated without him) and we need a couple of the team to step up and replace that.

Hate how TV can ruin best laid plans, but mostly hacked off that they couldn't even manage to move any games when I'm away on holiday this year.

Not too concerned about Lallana leaving...there are other players as good if not better (Tadic). What really gets my goat and amplifies what a bellend the guy is, is that he clearly had no regard for his position as team Captain. That to me indicates a disgraceful lack of respect for the fans and the players he leaves behind at Saints. For that reason alone I would never welcome him back to SMS, not that he would have the courage to return anyway.

If we were struggling financially and needed striker cover then using Sharp would be a no brainer. That's not the case.

I hope that the club create a new statue alongside Ted's - both men were instrumental in saving the club at it's hour of need. Other top clubs have more than one statue outside their grounds - we should honour Markus in this way IMO.

Don't be daft...there will be no new player announcement. It will be interesting to hear what the gaffer has to say though.

Play the lad centrally, bolster his confidence by giving him more of a mainstream part rather than a bit part and he'll shine IMO. It will be interesting to see if RK gives him the much pitch time - I'm actually guessing not with the other options available to him.

Hope the club manage to get another signing across the line today and/or sort out the Lovren, Morgan issues and confirm Cork and Fonte's position. The silence is deafening. Whatever happened to the dominoes - did Lallana pinch them?

Seems like a top class signing...very pleased. If this is the standard of player we're bringing in, then I'm excited for the season ahead.
