  1. Excellent news...the tonic we needed and great business. Listening to his interview, got a good feeling about this guy.
  2. If we were struggling financially and needed striker cover then using Sharp would be a no brainer. That's not the case.
  3. Link please? (Edit: actually don't bother - found it and it's not that good TBF).
  4. Completely agree with that.
  5. Excellent news.
  6. I'm right p1ssed off! Waited for this threads stream, then fed up with waiting I opened the actual U-tube stream in a different window...waited...nothing. Came back to this thread to hear the last minute of the interview! Will it be shown again anywhere (at least I can skip through the Utd b*llocks)?
  7. I hope that the club create a new statue alongside Ted's - both men were instrumental in saving the club at it's hour of need. Other top clubs have more than one statue outside their grounds - we should honour Markus in this way IMO.
  8. .............. Pelle? Tadic ..... Davis ..... Ramirez .... Morgan ..... Wanyama Clyne .... De Vrij? .... Fonte .... Chambers With a number of other decent players on the bench, the team could look quite tasty.
  9. Don't be daft...there will be no new player announcement. It will be interesting to hear what the gaffer has to say though.
  10. Play the lad centrally, bolster his confidence by giving him more of a mainstream part rather than a bit part and he'll shine IMO. It will be interesting to see if RK gives him the much pitch time - I'm actually guessing not with the other options available to him.
  11. Hope the club manage to get another signing across the line today and/or sort out the Lovren, Morgan issues and confirm Cork and Fonte's position. The silence is deafening. Whatever happened to the dominoes - did Lallana pinch them?
  12. Seems like a top class signing...very pleased. If this is the standard of player we're bringing in, then I'm excited for the season ahead.
  13. So actually, he's still not signed. Meh.
  14. Its not often that you will find the owner of a football club reverred by the supporters in quite the way Markus is. Such is the legacy of a great man...thanks for the dream Markus.
  15. Well that went ok then.
  16. Should have asked him what he said to Lallana and Lovren about joining Liverpool. (-;
  17. 'We will re-invest the all the transfer fees back into the squad to improve on last season' - Reed. Oh really? When might that happen then Les? Ralph? Kat? Err...knock, knock...anyone in there??? #itshappeningbutnotasweexpected
  18. Big step down from Utd to Southampton. All of one PL place and a few points. Don't need or want a journeyman like that little plank here anyway.
  19. Bit like Lallana then?
  20. This doesn't strike me as the type of signing we would make.
  21. That would make a lot of sense if he's to step in for JRod until he's fit. Good player and one would fit our system too.
  22. Let's see now. Without Lallana and Lambert we looked poor going forward last season, so the front-line clearly needs strengthening. I'm not really worried about LB - Clyne does a great job and if the information I've been given is true Targett will be very good for us. If Morgan goes, I truly believe the Cork/Wanyama partnership is very good indeed and we've still got Davis, JWP and Reed coming through. Lovren going would be a huge blow - a player that would cost us £15m+ to replace. So, my prediction is based on three likely scenarios... Replace Lambert and Lallana with top quality players and nothing else changes - 7th-10th. If no decent replacements then 12th-20th. If no decent front-line players AND Lovren goes and is not replaced by an equal or better CB, then relegation looms. All the above assumes that the present team and any incoming players gel with Koeman and staff and understand the system they want them to play (the 'Southampton way' is dead).
  23. LOL. That is both sad and laughably true!
  24. Over the top? Mmm, not really...I don't think we've seen any real signs yet that the substantive squad adjustment to push on from last year is taking place or will take place. For example, if we had made a decent bid for Lukaku we would have perhaps considered that to be a serious sign of intent. That certainly doesn't appear to be the way the Board is taking us transfer-wise. The strategy seems to be sell high, buy cheap (which turns out not so cheap because everyone knows we're minted). Put me down as one those not getting too excited at a return to 'go faster stripes' lol. Yes, it's a nice gesture, but it's not going to improve the squad is it?
