I agree 100%. Shame we didn't do that in the summer or we wouldn't be running the huge risk of relegation. Which we are. Because we have three very average goal keepers, two centre backs who are just about good enough for a relegation threatened side, and our best midfielder playing at right back... (I just though I should point this out in case the management had overlooked it while they tour Europe looking for attractive attacking talent)

Sure. But we spent circa £20m on our attacking threat in the summer. Spend that at the back and we have a genuine shot at comfortable mid-table. Can you see us spending that at the back? Because I would be spending every available penny there.

I won't turn down anyone who is better than what we had. But what we NEED is a goal keeper, a right back and at least one, if not two centre backs. The clubs who have succeeded after promotion in this league have built from the back. We have plenty of creativity and goals in us. What we cannot do is defend a lead. If we could, right now we would be THIRD in the league...

100% DD. We need strengthening at the BACK. It worries me that Adkins is falling into Burley mode... Look at what ain't right and fix it.

I'm beginning to worry about Adkins and that he may think he's Arsene Wenger and that we are Arsenal... We desperately need improvement at the back. We need a Premiership Keeper. We need at least one, possibly two Centre Backs. We need a right back. And we're ok at left back as long as Shaw stays fit and Fox is used as back-up...

Just watching the highlights - didn't go to the game as I was a bit under the weather. Never mind that there may be a gulf in salary bill and value, the biggest worry is yet again that our defending appears at times amateurish. Both the first and third Chelsea goals are really poor goals to concede - defence not unlocked so much as pushed wide open... We desperately need to up our concentration levels and discipline.

You shouldn't think about Stoke as being a tough place to go. You should think about giving away two goals because we sat so deep and posed no attacking threat... That said, today we didn't make the same mistake and deserved to win!

Nah. That would be two points from three games - that's relegation form especially when you add in Sunderland. You cannot give away points from winning positions the way we are and stay up. Something has to change. Luck maybe? Or just better bloody defending!

We can't. And that's because we don't really have a settled side who have roles and know what they're doing - especially in GOAL! Our organisation at the back is just sloppy sadly. That said. I'm not sure what else Guly is supposed to do there? The question is whether he should be there at all, or whether a better keeper doesn't come out and deal with it?
