I'm not sure we've been as good as some people are saying. We're still giving the ball away too cheaply. We need more composure and the game is there to be won comfortably. Hopefully confidence will help.

Nice goal by Punch! But shocking defending by QPR! Gave him the freedom of Loftus Road. We need to keep this tight second half and go for the jugular!

There are dark forces in our defence. They are rendering them completely incompetent. Fix those and the other dark forces will disappear. I gaurantee it.

Wilfred Zaha - Crystal Palace (linked in The Sun)
Legod Third Coming replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Zaha won't come here. Palace want £20m for him apparently. And why would you come to a club looking more likely to be in the Championship next season than the one you're currently playing for??! -
Aye, I forgive the lad though - he's only young and usually his distribution is alright. His kicking is actually pretty accurate normally, don't you think? He seems to have an ability to hit Lambert (which I think we could have done a bit more, he was murdering their right back!)
-
Sometimes, the best option regardless is to have the ball in the crowd and regroup. Put it this way, I would rather Gazza had kicked the ball to me in the back of the Chapel than set up Nathan Dyer!

There are some football rules which transcend language and nationality!

Aye, we are set up to play the ball out, which I like and admire. BUT BUT BUT. In any game, even at the Nou Camp, when the ball is coming to the keeper with a man attacking him and not a single outlet even there they have two feet and the capacity to SWING one of them!!! If in doubt, put the fecking thing OUT!

Was yesterday the turning point?
Legod Third Coming replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
If Lambert turns an ankle tomorrow, Jay Rod starts. And he'll start other games with and without Lambert (already has). £3m players to play in the first team in the Premiership better than we have? Tough ask, very. But possible... Personally I wouldn't have spent £7m on a centre-forward when we had Sharp - I would have spent it on two CBs. -
The ball often ends up with a keeper under pressure. You simply boot the fecking ball up field or into the crowd.

Saints vs Swansea Post Match Reactions
Legod Third Coming replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Nah - you've got to go in believing otherwise you've lost already! -
I shouted just before Cork passed the ball. By your logic I am also culpable for our goal! It wasn't Cork who screwed up it was Gazza. Why don't you cut Adkins some slack. There were no tactical mistakes yesterday just a kid making a poor decision. And guess what. Kids do that sometimes.

Was yesterday the turning point?

Because we need a squad? Or are we supposed to have only 11 players now? -
Aftertiming and the parallel universe.
Legod Third Coming replied to tisspahars's topic in The Saints
It's a shame for the boy because his distribution the rest of the game was good and his kicking is first class. He's 21 and made a mistake. Key thing is he learns from it. -
Saints vs Swansea Post Match Reactions
Legod Third Coming replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
We played alright, as did Swansea. Their number 20 ran the midfield for them and Cork ran it for us. Morgan wasn't at the races apart from the goal. We should have had one (or two, unless you're Martin Keown) penalties. And as Adkins said, a young lad in goal makes a mistake and hands them a point and costs us two... I think we'll feel better next week when we win away for the first time. We are ideally set up to beat QPR. -
Have you heard anyone in media / football saying Adkins should go?
Legod Third Coming replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
To be honest, when has anyone in the game ever called for a manager to go? They don't. It's a club with one strategy - time. -
In isolation, these are all very worrying figures. But I suppose these days, most football clubs in the Premiership (or even other leagues - Crawley, for example) who have benefactor owners would show equal amounts of debt, loans or equity? And you do have to look at what the club would be worth today, assuming that the accounts were prepared before promotion?

I have contacted Wikipedia to update the page marked 'irony' with this.

I'll be in the back of the Chapel stand giving Nigel Adkins 100% of my support. I don't care if we finish this season in 17th on goal difference under Nigel. After eighteen months of, at times, sensational football, and the most inspiring period in my life as a fan of this club, Nigel Adkins deserves OUR support until such times as he or the Chairman decides the game is up. Life is not a one-way street in which you can take. There are time when you also have to give. As someone who has experienced failure and success in pretty much equal measure, I can imagine what Nigel is going through right now. He's questioning his own ability. He's wondering if all those qualities that guided our success are those that will work now. And the thing is they should. Because if there is any justice, a good, gracious man who delivers nothing but positivity should be rewarded. And just maybe what he needs right now is to look around a football stadium and see a recognition of his contribution to putting this football club back on the map, in the vocal support of 28,000 grateful friends. Come on Nigel - turn it around and prove the doubters wrong. And shove the speculation back down the throats of the hacks who circle like vultures while adding nothing of value to our club. Good luck mate. Fecking good luck!

Very good. But, it should be: Vaffanculo! To be more effective...

Nor am I. You should try it. It works

So, reading this thread, no one knows how he is, what he is like to work with, how he operates or anything other than. 1. He persuaded a man to save our club. 2. He fired a manager and installed one who has delivered two promotions. 3. We're in the Premeirship two years ahead of target - when many in here scoffed it could be delivered in five years. Oh and somehow Matt Le Tiss and Cortese don't like each other, but Le Tiss isn't man enough to bury the hatchet... I'll take my chances with the Italian for now thanks.

The way Adkins dealt with being tapped up originally and his insistence on being fair to S****horpe, and every single thing I have heard and seen since (EVERY SINGLE THING) tells me that Nigel Adkins is a man of principle. If you think he would take team selection from a Chairman, I suggest you are living in cloud cuckoo land.
