I'm sorry mate I wasn't having a go at you personally, but the general whinging and moaning on here that seems to underpin every other post. Whether you support the current coach, players, board or not, we all know we are facing a mountain this year. I happen to think if we all pulled together and got behind the team it wouldn't do any harm. It might not do the blindest bit of good either, but it couldn't hurt could it? Whenever an opinion like that is expressed, then it is leapt upon as somehow being in support of the current chairman, which is total ******. Constant snidy threads and negative posts do nothing but cheese off people like me who want to be allowed to enjoy our football team, no matter how much we're also hurting with results. I realise we are all on the same side but when we lost to Burnley, rather than people talking about what a firking shame it was BWP couldn't bury the chance and salvage a point for us, people leapt straight onto a thread and started laying into the management and players without seeing a single kick of the game. Now, we don't have to be happy we lost, but it comes to something when people can't express their disappointment without being called spineless or short-sighted or happy clappy. It's sad.

Pal, you can criticise the club all you like. As soon as someone on here springs to the defence if the club, they are lambasted as some form of Lowe lover or idiot. And yes they are belittled for their support. That's my beef. I tell you one thing, though. As a parent if I see my kids doing something wrong, I sometimes let them so they learn. Sometimes I step in and offer them advice. Whatever happens I SUPPORT them and don't feck off round to my neighbours to tell them how hopeless my children are... Good analogy.

Hmm, you thinking of a different type of fan or different club? Fuller? Delap? Crouch? To name but three written off here and succeeding elsewhere. Spoken as someone who went nuts when Lowe appointed the failed Coventry manager... -

Current form is irrelevant mate. Did we all play the same teams over the last eight games?? If I lost three tennis matches to Federer and you won three against your neighbour does it follow that you are the better player and will therefore beat me? -
And so you feel the need to continually belittle us mate. That's the problem. Your view is your view. But you leap on every negative result as though it is OUR fault. It's not so why bang on about it all the time, eh?? When you and your ilk start posting ideas about what YOU or WE can do to help our team, you'll have my undivided attention. Until then, you're just a jonah - sad because we have a lot of them. What the f u c k makes you think I am happy to see us lose? To see my club a shadow of the one I supported for my whole life?? There is a difference between accepting things as they are and moaning about them incessantly, though. There is a difference between getting in and supporting the team and young players and coach and sitting in the sidelines sniping. I'm as frustrated as you. I choose not to take it out on a forum where it bears no relation to the results in the pitch. Read the posts above and tell me that fans who just go along and support are not considered some sort of moronic underclass?

Read my post mate. On 23 game form we're safe. Why are 8 games more reliable than 23? They're not. 23 games includes every team in the league played home or away. Look, it ain't saying it's a guarantee off safety just as YOU cannot say it's a gaurantee of relegation. But maths is maths and today we are safe not relegated. -

The board don't divide fans, they divide one another. -
Just look at the sarcastic thread you started with its implicit criticism of us who simply go along and pay our cash and yes, do look forward to next Saturday just as we do every game. I have no problem with anyone's opinion. I detest people who belittle supporters who simply go with the flow and support their team. You and your cronies class us all as somehow 'lowe luvvies' and delight in pointing out to us all the club's failings while rarely offering a hopeful solution and most of you (you may or may not be included) don't even have the decency to go to a game!!! Well, I hope you are satisfied when the grandchildren ask - what did you do in the war grandad...

I can tell you that Watford's finances are well and truly screwed and that my Charlton supporting mates are extremely fearful that their finances are also up the spout - none of them can believe they sold Varney for £1.5m - and they consider this a guide of their real plight. I have no idea about Forest and Doncaster. -

After 23 games we arer fourth bottom. Seriously, is the water around St Marys what it used to be? Or is this a reflection on the Blair years... You can quote me 6 game or 8 game form. But as a form student, I can tell you 23 games is the best judgement since it includes EVERY other team in the league. -

No, if all bottom four teams continue in the same form, we will be safe. Does anyone on this forum have a GCSE in maths to their name? We have to get worse and/or they have to get better. -
Your opinion towards other fans who simply pay good money to support their club is lamentable. People in glass houses...

Is there someone close to him who can establish a way forward that removes Lowe and works a relationship between Wilde and Crouch but with a new Chairman at the helm. Perhaps this Salz fellow or someone else who can work TOGETHER with exsiting shareholders?
-
All of which, above, gets us precisely nowhere. Lowe is our only option unless someone can come up with a plan to remove him. RobM, I don't take anything you say personally and am grateful for the information. But knowing how companies and people work, what we have here is a political situation. Lowe is being kept in place by shareholders currently loyal to him. We therefore need a plan to make them turn against Lowe. Either this must be something in their short-term financial interest or which they can see is the best option for the club - their motivation doesn't matter just so long as they effectively change sides. So, our options are as follows: 1. Do nothing but shut up and support the team. 2. Continue to moan about Lowe in the knowledge we intend to do nothing. Which to me seems the most hopeless waste of time and energy known to man. 3. Start work on garnering support - at ground level and on the board - for a change of direction. ST Landrew I respect that this could be disruptive to the team but the work to garner support for a new plan and regime need not be in the open until it is ready. As for what Lowe might have done differently, that is totally immaterial as he is doing what he believes is right for his and the interests of the club.

Not true. If the three teams below us continue to pick up fewer points than us, we will be fine. That's the beauty of the league... -
But as I understand it, Lowe does not control all the shares or even a majority. Therefore a plan need only persuade the other shareholders to back it.
-
Then lets STOP all the moaning and wailing and gnashing of teeth and do something about it. First, there must be a plan NOT to remove Rupert but that presents a BETTER alternative to the existing shareholders whose support will be essential. This plan will also need support of the club's financial backers who can exert their own pressure on the shareholders. Ideally the plan will also need some finanancial backing of its own - not a huge amout but several million to invest in the stability of the club's finances short-term. Finally, it will need to demonstrate how the plan differs from what is on offer through the existing board. IMHO this plan should not be disruptive in the short term to the playing and coaching staff - since that will send the shareholders back into the ground and scare the bankers senseless. Where it could score valuable points is as follows: 1. It might offer an opportunity to increase revenue through match attendance increase IF supporters could pledge to attend post-the new consortium. 2. The money on offer would enable us to recall some of our better players and support securing existing loaned players more permanently. 3. By offering stability within the playing and coaching staff (in fact additional support in both areas), it cannot be rejected by the existing shareholders on the basis that it is disruptive to the club. In essence all that happens is that Rupert Lowe is replaced short-term. I am happy to contribute time to the above. However, I am not a finance specialist nor do I have cash! What I do have is time, energy and a passion to see this club succesful.

FFS - if you want to change him, be my guest. But you seem to put every ounce of effort you have into this forum. My point is - what do you want ME TO DO ABOUT IT?? Is that so hard to fathom for all the people who want him gone?? Do something. And stop bloody moaning about him!!!!! -
To: sneer at other fans who actually enjoy getting behind the team and coach bang on relentlessly about things beyond the control of any normal fan whinge, moan and generally run down everything about the club they purport to support. I think that just about covers it.

I'm looking forward to the last game before Xmas and bringing the kids along with a few friends. Will fill the car up and hope they see a win for a change!

What he meant was - he is our only option. When someone else can come up with the cash and ideas, I'm all ears. -
Work out the average number of first team appearances, that's more relevant than age. And although he wasn't playing, I think if we had Iwelumo here you might find we had a few more goals...

You know if results had gone against us on the final day, we would have been relegated beating Sheffield United. Pearson got lucky, happy as I am that he did. And I would have kept him, but the idea we turned a corner simply is the euphoria of safety.
