  1. Honestly, I was going to run on the pitch and carry Beatts to the bloody goal-mouth some games. He looked so lazy and fat!!! Next week he starts scoring and got one every game for about 18 months. Second to Theirry Henry - that's how good he was eventually!!!!!! Now, McG... needs a couple and then he'll be ok I reckon. No Beatts possibly, but ok...
  2. lol - with Xmas coming, I hope we stuff them whoever scores!!!!!!!
  3. Think this is vary unfair on James - who was easily out best player at Palace and made one horrendous mistake - shame. Lallana - looks to me like he's still getting over his injury and occasionally goes walkabout but is one hell of a talent. His footwork is exceptional and he will get better with a bit more bulk. As for McG - I'm not prepared to write a bloke off after 20 odd games. Firking hell, how long did it take BT to become a 20 goal a season striker? What do you suggest we do? Give 'em a chance or jettison them and watch them score goals for Stoke??
  4. It's not the only thing that could be done. It is what is being done and yet people still persist on asking why something different cannot be done. It can, as soon as someone removes Rupert - yawn. What I do, and will continue to do, is voice my opinion that the coach/manager is doing a good/reasonable job given the prevailing conditions - ie. playing with predominantly inexperienced pros who are learning on the job. It is my opinion. Other people want to remove him. I think it's barmy. I know of one coach in the UK who has worked successfully with such a young squad - Dario Grady - I'm not sure how many others have worked with such a an inexperienced team? If you know, tell - for all the good it will do. I am sure any other manager would want cash to bring in their own players. They're not going to get it. I cannot see how changing the manager and not the Chairman will benefit us at all? But maybe Rupert will relent and bring in Davies and give him £5m to bring in Darren Moore, Steve Howard et al... Woolies, I'm afraid was dead in the water years ago. Most people knew it. But when banks were throwing around billions you could overlook the £358million a failing high street store was never going to repay. Oh and take down one of my mate's company in the process... I'm bored of saying I have no feeling for Rupert either way. He's done some good things and some bad - but that doesn't fit the view of him as Satan I appreciate. He took us down but so did Ted and Lawrie and I have bags of time for both. When someone else can show me a better alternative, great. I cannot wait. Until then, I refuse to waste my precious time on earth on pointless whimsy about how we should move forward and under whom. If you think JP can be judged on 23 games bully for you. I happen to think he might need a season or two... but then I do have some patience and am a fatalist. Whatever happens this season, I will have highs and lows. I hope and pray that the highs outnumber the lows but I ain't losing any sleep over it.
  5. More to the point, how is a manager derided on here often getting Rory Delap to create eight goals this season? And why the couldn't he have created eight goals for us? If he had, WE would still be in the Premiership... ironic eye roll
  6. Bad, feel for them. Could be the kick that shatters confidence. Having been there, hard to take too much pleasure from it. Would rather we just won more games tbh!!
  7. Err, what is your problem?
  8. Er I thought Reading played 4-3-3??? Hunt - Doyle - Hunt?? Could be wrong...
  9. No son, you are ridiculous. We in this country are wedded to 442. Continental managers don't play it. We have a continental manager. He aint going to play it. It didn't do any of the succesful continental managers any harm. Just as there are crap managers who employ 433 so there are CRAP managers who play 442. To suggest that a guy who has never employed 442 can suddenly make it work is bonkers.
  10. Well, you think they will improve. I'm telling you people who watch them every week think they won't. Who is most informed to judge? All of this is speculation. If they get better and we don't we're screwed. If we get better they are. And so on. Only time will tell though. We do need to get better for our own sanity and safety.
  11. Look, I don't want to get into this debate again, but I bet you find Mourinho played 433 his entire managerial career and didn't do too bad.
  12. Charlton fans rate their players worse than we rate ours.
  13. You can't ask a Leopard to change spots DD. I thought everyone would know that? I don't know football but I know you can't teach an old dog new tricks... 442 is an alien concept to a man from the continent.
  14. Hush you heretic! Think before you post...
  15. ooo feel for the addicks - man that is bad.
  16. You are preaching to the vicar old son. But that is not the current incumbent's fault and I find the vitriol expressed towards him quite distasteful.
  17. Now you see I agree here, but on the Burnley commentary the two fellas asked why Cork was playing centre-back as he's a midfielder!!! I hate it these days that a lot of players are no longer specialist. This is not something we do, it's something that is the 'new football' - players seem to play everywhere across the park. James could be a right back. He's quick enough if he can sort his positioning out. Skillful lad though. Real shame he made the mistake at dellhurst as he was the best player up to then!!
  18. Jaun Sebastian Veron? Diego Forlan? Find me a manager who has not bought some milk as well as some cream...
  19. That's them! Mansfield - and I think Arry's point was well-made. Chicken's now coming home to roost... That said, safety is all I want this season. Because even now Lloyd James is becoming a really good player - mistakes still, but they'll go. Same with some of the others - Cork is a find and Pearce. A fit Spiderman is classy as was Holmes before the injury. All is not lost from where I'm sat. But it will be bloody hard. The fact that we are not down already with the players we have is a minor miracle in my view.
  20. Different kettle of fish. There good players were not pulling their weight for the former manager. Here, players who are probably not good enough for the first team but are learning the hard way and being exposed. Example, look what happened when Arry played the kids against Southend in the cup... "Someone keeps telling me these kids are good enough, they're not yet" he said... How prophetic? Certainly, when introducing kids, you need to do it into a successful team, not hope that they can salvage a club!!
  21. WOT?? jan has never and will never play four four ferking two!!! lol
  22. You can hardly blame a bloke who's been here for four months why our players are making basic errors... Maybe they just ain't that good... Altho, they haver 100% support from me because they are at least normally trying hard.
  23. Do you seriously think that Lloyd James doesn't know that?? He screwed up. What do you want a manager to do? Put a kit on and play?? James often gets the wrong side, commits himelf too early. McGoldrick leans back when he shoots. Lallana doesn't strike through the ball, Davis drops it on crosses... Is this the manager's fault?? Or the result of having not very good players because we are in the CCC and playing the cheapest players that the Chairman believes can keep us up?
