  1. What Arry can manage anywhere but Southampton - intriguing, must be like the Bermuda Triangle. Good managers go missing inside it...
  2. which would be because of whom?? Wasn't allowed to do his job maybe?
  3. yes and how right we were, turned out to be a poor manager that one...
  4. No, come off it. There was good control and passing out there tonight. We move the ball around slickly and well but are undone by basic errors. Put the errors right and have more bite up front and we have a chance. Mr Wu is not technically gifted - he's a ball juggler that's all.
  5. This is the one thing signalled by older farts at the start of the season. Kids are notoriously inconsistent. They'll be hurting tonight. It's important they take that pain into the Burnley game and use it! And I divorce my support from the board. I refuse to discuss the cause of this problem until someone gives me a solution!!!! I ain't got one, I can only support the team and manager.
  6. It's not, it's just your age and memory. I've seen much worse teams. Technically this team is as good as any - really. It's just not working consistently yet. That might come. It might not.
  7. And if we win next week and against Forest? Ifs and maybes are not worth worrying about are they? What do you propose to do? If your angst ridden posts make you feel better, keep going. But my guess is they don't. Not really. Pearson is gone - you have to deal with that. No offence, like, genuinely but I'm with you - would rather we had kept him. We didn't and now we have to hope that this approach will be just good enough in the short term and succesful in the long term.
  8. 7-1 at Watford was bad for me. 6-2 at home to Spurs having been 2-0 up and cruising was quite painful. Losing 4-3 at Tranmere was pretty excrutiating. And the 4-1 at Fratton was embarrassing. But no, on reflection tonight was the Kristal nacht of Southampton Football Club, the zenith of poor performance. Exaggeration? Me, no chance. As I've said a million times over...
  9. Yes, that's right. You asked for the argument, got a cogent one and now resort to petty name calling. Well trust me, I know Latin, French and German so fire away oh wondrous name-caller... yawny yawn yawn... yaboo sucks.
  10. You said they didn't have the stomach for it, they do. And your brilliant plan to turn things around is... Do you get it? We have NO cash. This is as good as we are. Some days it's good enough to beat Reading and other days we'll lose to Palace. If the league finished today we are safe and can build for next season. That must be our hope given where we are.
  11. Maybe Calvin - what would you change and how? I would bring John and Rasiak back to score goals. I've looked down my sofa but ain't got the cash. You?
  12. Hard for you to see from that basement, but we do have players with heart - if not latent talent. But that would spoil your delerious vision of impending doom... if nothing this season you cannot accuse the vast majority of our lads of not trying 100% every game. It might not be good enough, it wouldn't be their fault.
  13. Ok, here you go. We have a team of mainly academy, youth and reserve players. We are without three of the better of them. Previously they might have played 22 games in a season - they have played 22 in three months. We have a coach who has now had a total of 22 games in the English football. We have strikers on loan who have scored 80 goals between them in three seasons. We have no money. We are trying to build a football ethos and approach. Like anyone in this position we are struggling. Now, brains, what's your brilliant solution? And those of us who saw this coming and still enjoy the challenge are not some sort of morons. Just people who know that making omelettes means broken eggs and just occasionally setting fire to the hob... and have learned that patience is sometimes the most important virtue in life, let alone football.
  14. Another nostradamus - do me a favour and stick me down for three lines in the scoop 6 and the euro millions ta.
  15. If the league ended today, we're safe. Charlton aren't. They're in trouble, we're just not that good. 5 games - 6 points, not great is it. But not the end of the world either, eh?
  16. Charlton -mmm depends whom they appoint. Watford - depends on whether the bloke can make a success of his first ever management job. Both have squads like ours - Watford have a serious cash shortage and will have to sell in January, so too might Charlton - their fans are well cheesed off at losing Varney already. We're in a relegation fight. It's whether we have the stomach for it.
  17. Yes, you are right - Mourinho could turn McGoldrick into Drogba and James into Ashley Cole...
  18. Agreed, and also crossing! Just sometimes it's worth banging the ball in at pace and seeing where it ends up!!!!!!
  19. Well done nostrafirkingdamus...
  20. No CHARLTON are in trouble. We're just not that good.
  21. no - we're no worse off than we were before. we've been in a relegation fight from the start of the season. some predicted it would all be over by now with an unknown coach and youth players. It will be hard and no mistake but we're not dead yet. We need the Chairman to dig deep and bring back someone who can capitalise on all our posession with end product!
  22. er that's my point - we gifted them the goals. you shouldnt be able to score with their limited posession. WE lost the game.
  23. agreed - technically good in posession, poor usage and decision making. poor defending and poor attacking... apart from that brilliant! lol
  24. no one is happy you - but its not the manager's fault. You think Mourinho could make mcgoldrick and james drogba and terry?? another who blames the symptom not the cause
