Great. Been to every home game this season (bar one). Been to Reading, QPR, Charlton. Been to a testimonial and a friendly. Been to a reserve game. Didn't bother to renew my membership and must now take my chances with those who only come to watch Ronaldo... Think I might just give this a swerve and go back when the ground is empty and my support matters.

Eventually, these guys have to realise it is Christmas Day and time to call a truce in favour of the club they all want and need to succeed, whatever their motivation - personal, financial, ego, etc. If you are listening now Leon, Rupert, Michael - you can either speak to each other through the press, or over a Cabernet in the boardoom where you could be man enough to let bygones be bygones and work together for the good of us all. Surely, at a time when the world needs conflict like a drowning man needs water, three grown businessmen can debate sensibly and calmly and reach, if not friendship, at least an amicable agreement that our main focus - success for the club - can only be achieved by working together.

This is a really tough call for the club though. We need money badly and this is probably the one chance we have this season to fill the ground... I don't envy them. Whatever happens they'll cheese someone off. I'd like to see some pricing preference given to ST Holders (I am not one) and then purchasing preference given to those (I am one) who have been to games all season. Beyond that, a fair price that fills the ground would be the ideal outcome. I also like the idea of bundling the ticket with another home game, but at a reduced price. Call me old fashioned but if a few people could just see the enthusiasm, passion and heart our lads play with they might fall back in love with the team in red and white - which when all said and done, is what football's about - not who currently occupies the end seat at the boardroom table...

Spending money you do not have is a surefire way to go bust - that is a fact. What Lowe is doing is cutting costs to a point where we might survive. If it's a choice between possible survival and no survival it doesn't need a brain surgeon or rocket scientist to work out, does it?

For me, if he simply stays on his feet and goal side his game will improve 30-40% immediately. And that would be good enough in this league.

I really like the look of that line-up (second and available this Saturday) - with BWP ready off the bench with Robertson and Patterson. My only reservation is that we must move the ball quickly from back to front via the width of James and Skacel and DMG must hold the ball up - something he usually does ok but without much credit. We must then ensure that on getting forward we do not leave DMG and Euell isolated. Really nice looking spine though that team. I really like yong Pearce - he wants the ball and is a tough cookie - someone we need to keep!

The BBC pay nothing... ITV on the other hand... And being on ITV does mean we should and can be more commercially astute re advertising hoardings, promotional deals, etc...

I know what you mean about Derby and Charlton but my point was we used to sell out to see Bolton and Blackburn when we would invariably lose or worse scrape a 0-0!!! Now it has been real entertaining stuff - albeit we have slipped up when on the box so you're not seeing the best of it. But this season, I have genuinely seen us play some of the best football since those heady days you and I remember! Don't get me wrong, I missed long periods myself for family, money, location reasons. But it would be a shame to turn up for a topping out ceremony and not have been there when the first sod was turned. I think in the long run as Saints, we only have the dark days to thank for knowing what the sunshine really feels like.

Clapham Junction - Millwall, Charlton, QPR, Palace, Aldershot, Southampton and 32,000 special constables.

Why does it matter to you who your team play? Either you support Saints or you don't. Personally, I will watch my team play anyone from Salisbury to Barcelona but I go to watch MY team not the opposition. Like you I was raised on a diet of top flight football - but I didn't turn up to watch Dalgliesh, Hansen and Souness - I turned up to watch Moran, Wallace and Williams. I don't begrudge you a ticket by any stretch but I would urge you to deal with our plight and come down and watch us against the likes of Derby and Charlton - teams we used to pay to watch regularly in the Premiership. I really hope you see something in January that reminds you who you support and why. PS: That's not meant to be patronising - I think you're missing out on seeing some really good, entertaining football the likes of which we have not seen since 1984!

Finally, something around which we can unite.

Something to do with not scoring I'll wager...
-
how about on grass....
-
Many of us have had our doubts tho...
-
exactly - perfectly valid and fair.
-
As above, go to the United game - we'll lose to Forest. This is Saints...
-
Ignore him, we don't have enough fans on our forum or in our ground...
-
I would love it if we beat them... ooops I've turned into KK...
-
Lol - let's not get carried away until we have beaten them...
-
It only becomes an issue for me if they prevent fans who have been turning out in all weathers and against all oppposition from going.
-
yes i think i agree.
-
you've only come to see united...

Er, that is the second worst type of fan. The worst snipes on here and never goes at all. But think of fans like friends - they should be there when you need them. And that's the problem many have - we have empty seats when filling them might mean holding onto our better players and building for the future. You can't fault people for wanting the best for their team and expecting that others will feel the same since they profess support. -
I didn't see any divisions at the Madejski or Valley so I wouldn't lose sleep. The few stay-aways will end up being marginalised when we start winning again and then will either come back or will die lonely and bitter and without seeing their team anymore.

Dexter Banks?

Then we are agreed. As said, if they come to the game, I will welcome them - but moreso their cash!!!! I just hope they see something that makes them come back. We are a reasonable side, but with a big heart, passion and desire, and some style. But we need money!
