At the grand old age of 43 I have re-taken up football... So I've bought some Adidas Boots - Black and fecking white, before you ask. Kaiser Funf - very fetching. They look like REAL football boots, not my girlfriend's slippers or my daughter's crocs... And a pair of Saints AWAY shorts - £25! (Expensive but I've paid for a hair on Lallana's head for a week I guess...) Anyway, what the feck are these shorts made of??!!! Climacool?? Near see-thru, feel like satin, look like silk??!! Any experience of whether they will revive my career? Does the climacool keep the tackle clean? Will they actually wash after a decent sliding two-footed knee high challenge?

My bookie had had a big bet each way on us without the top 6 (ie. to finish 7th-9th). It was 10/1 and he thinks was a steal. He's a good judge. He's on Talksport with Colin Murray quite often and his bets are pretty good most of the time.

Could not agree me - every quality you want in a footballer he showed last night and throughout his career. Humble, gracious, hard-working, respectful - a bloody great role model for young footballers everywhere. A bloke who put tops on beetroot jars for a living knows how lucky he is. We need more with that understanding. He's worth a million John Terrys as a man and as a footballer.

Lallana not half the player since injury as he was before. However, this is not helped by making him captain and picking him! He should have been out for longer, come back stronger and then had to fight his way back in. He's classy as they come on his day and easily good enough for this league.

Agreed. Danny Fox cost us a draw at the Etihad. Nigel Adkins cost us a win against United. Jos cost us goodness knows how many points (and I say that as someone who loves him to bits). Bad luck cost us at Old Trafford. Look at the winning positions we threw away and there is your optimism for next season right there. Some of these lads were cutting it in League One 18 odd months ago!!!

Not really. Only West Brom beat our system. The rest we gifted results to through: Poor defending - fixed by two better Centre Backs. Poor finishing - fixed by a new striker.

Slightly disappointed if I'm honest. At times this season our football has been sublime - both under Adkins and Pochettino. But we've been horribly inconsistent and thrown away more points than a Tesco Clubcard promotion. Factor in all the points given away from winning positions and we would have been closer to Arsenal and Spurs than Stoke! We need to toughen up over the summer, identify where our strengths are and play to them, where are weaknesses are and work on them. We were good enough to beat anybody on our day. We just need to make it our day more often. The high will be beating Man Citeh. The low losing to Man United when we had them on the rack - TWICE!

By the way. Arsenal will thrash Wigan.
