  1. I thought we were excellent and bloody unlucky on Friday and I'm sure the players didn't need much lifting. And I also don't accept the title is over. Let's see how Reading fare if we're three points behind at 12:30 on Saturday 28th April!...
  2. No son, let's hope he is simply praising an outstanding performance. I remember Redknapp saying about Arsenal after they thrashed West Ham, "They could have won the boat race today..." That's what we want. Admiration for a job well done!
  3. It's unfair to rate Fox and Butterfield on performances against Reading on Friday... I would back our defence against most teams below 8th in the Premiership. And frankly 17th would be good enough in season one...
  4. Put him down. You never know where those Quesians have been...
  5. Yep. Palace. Sat in their family stand close to Saints fans. In fact, gained a new appreciation for us from the new perspective...
  6. Didn't know they did reversals?
  7. That doesn't work because I am 4 and 8, but my missus says I'm to answer 6...
  8. Only saw the first but looked a clear push on BBC. But you see them given and not given every week!
  9. Rather than waste your time posting this drivel, get a pen. Get a pad. And write this: "Dear Nigel, Thank you for coming to our club. Thank you for delivering us promotion in your first season, taking over the team in 22nd and finishing 2nd - 3 points behind the league winners. Thank you for making us the fittest team in my living memory. Thank you for bringing the best out of Rickie Lambert and through your fitness regime, making him the best player in the football league - voted by his peers. Thank you for overseeing more wins than any manager in the club's history. Thank you Nigel for bringing us to the brink of Premiership football, playing a style that can be scintilating and as good as any team in Europe on our day. Nigel, just thank you. That is all. And good luck for the final push. You and the players deserve it for the work and sheer team ethic you have demonstrated from day one, hour one, minute one. And for the pleasure you have given me and thirty thousand like me." And if you can't find a pen, I'll send you one. And if you don't write with it, perhaps I'll shove it where your head clearly is.
  10. People who are slating and questioning a team and manager who have taken us on a ride from 22nd in League One to 2nd in the Championship need to take a long hard look at themselves. Long and hard...
  11. If it's got feathers, quacks and floats, guess what? It's a fecking duck!
  12. Jees I hope Peterborough defend like that against us!!!
  13. What was the keeper doing with the first??!!!
  14. In the Palace programme I bought it said this: "Southampton average 21 crosses to the league average of 11" For all those who persist in peddling the 'we over complicate' rumours...
  15. That's it. The proof. Care in the community has failed. Are you listening Maggie?!
  16. That's it. The club is down. The game is up. So do the decent thing. Liquidate today before you rob any more charities and volunteer organisations, small local suppliers and best fans in the land. Do the decent thing and guarantee your fans a Premiership club to support next season. You know it's the right thing to do.
  17. I still think there are plenty of twists yet...
  18. Right, let's just concentrate on our results...
  19. Do we make those mistakes every week? Is that how Adkins has become the most successful manager in England over the past 18 months apart from Fergie and Mancini??
  20. The nice thing if that SKD went long but so accurately last night. When we did hit Rickie, we really hit him, bang on the money every time. There was no aimless ball forward. We are a bloody good football team. We base our football on posession. This is the basis of the best football team in the world. It can't be a bad thing to love and want the football...
  21. They have Jason Roberts. The guy oozes class and is clearly a Premiership player. According to the Reading fans he also does some of the team talks and is an incredible motivator, catalyst in the dressing room. I just saw his after-game interview and it was brilliant 'result never in doubt' - really Jason, you were thinking that in the ten minutes after we equalised??!!
  22. Brilliant!
  23. Why do people persist in saying that we overplay or complain about basic possession?? We are the league's top scorers, by a margin! This is because we retain the ball and look for opportunities. Granted last night our finishing was not the best and Federici pulled off a couple of decent saves in the first half. You do not need pace to score - United are not a very pacy side but they use the ball exceptionally well when they have it. So do we most of the time. We have a pacy player - De Ridder - who looks like he lacks confidence but his final ball has never been reliable. Chung has pace. But we're not a team like Reading. We do not 'hit people on the break'. Not unless we're given a bloody good head start by poor defending. But that's ok. Pace would be great. We might have scored even more goals. But we're not suffering from not scoring.
