Saints 4 Exeter 0 - Post Match Comments
Legod Third Coming replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
This needs to be the second leg of a winning run from now until the title is confirmed. Well done lads and Ads. -
JD - job done....
-
Right decision, the guy is a busted flush.
-
We're getting there. I finally think they realise we can **** this league!!!
-
This game has 0-0 all over it... LOL
-
No, just the mongs are identifying themselves...
-
Guys - we need some calm. The season doesn't end today. We just need to win our games and we will win the league - ignore the other results. Chill babes.

Uncomfortable player meetings......

I was paying for a lot of them.... -
That's my reading of it. Think Harding is often under-rated on here. For my money he's the best left back in the league. Very much in the Dennis mould.
-
I've only seen Guly live twice but both times he impressed me with his vision and link up play. His passing is defence-splitting (see aformentioned highlights) and his ability lay the ball off comfortably with either foot is worthy of at least the division above us. All in I don't see a lot wrong with any aspect of our squad - Jaidi and Seabourne alongside Fonte are easily good enough to win us this league and I hate the idea of buying 'cover'. If a top class CB was available to mix things up and provide stiffer competition then maybe.

Nice to know we can all trust you in confidence -
Just watched the highlights. Made two goals and created the opportunity for Lallana to hit the bar... what a shame we don't have more donkeys like him playing for us. And to think he might be keeping Paul Wotton out of the team. Disgraceful.
-
Wouln't count their chickens just yet DD. I'm not convinved that consortium of Himinez and Varney and co has any more cash behind them than Murray... It could well be a case of Crouch and Wilde over Lowe... Time well tell, but don't expect to see any big money deals any time soon. (And despite our sparring Happy New Year matey, all the best to our armed forces is my motto)
-
Finally a manager who understands football. Respect to Wotton as a trier - not what we need to win this league or the next.

Adkins - Now looking to win the league
Legod Third Coming replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Yes I suspect that the Chairman is also looking for the Liebherr's sizeable investment to result in us stumbling to promotion. Our problem is a winning mentality in the boardroom and losing one on the terraces... thankfully the Chairman and manager agree with me... -

He is doing ok. We're making progress but we need to now go on a long winning run and stamp our clear class on this league. Losing to Brentford proves we're not there quite yet but we're not far off either. I fully expect us to win the league. But so we SHOULD. We are giants in a pond of minnows - even Charlton need the takeover or they'll go into administration. -
Adkins - Now looking to win the league
Legod Third Coming replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
He's doing ok but let's not credit him with raising Lazarus just yet. We weren't dead. We had the best squad in the league which the Chairman had rendered demoralised by virtue of sacking a fine manager and appointing an idiot. -
Good. £500 at 4/1 is £2 grand. Thank you Nigel ...

All the while we were winning the Ashes people wanted Ashley Giles dropped because he was not taking enough wickets - forgetting that it wasn't one wicket that won the Ashes or one run it was ALL of them. It's a little like asking for a Heston Blumenthal Xmas pudding and then moaning that he's overdone the raisins... We win as a TEAM of the manager's baking. When it loses ask him to change the ingredients. Until then shut the ferk up because you sound like an idiot.
-
More like, he has now been resting with all these postponements and might actually be near fitness from injury?

Away form after Christmas: DDDWDLWDWWL - the first three draws were Millwall, Brentford and Exeter. Worth noting that we got better results at these grounds than most of the remainder of the top six, for example. I don't think that's disastrous form away from home is it? Where we categorically lost last season was in the first two months of the campaign. The huge advantage we should have had this season was the ability to hit the ground running with a full squad... However, similar form to last year between now and the season end would see us do ok for the play-offs I reckon. A modest improvement on last season would probably see us win the league. We just need to get on with it. Last season we had 19 at this point and Leeds had 45!! Contrast that with now - we have 28 and Brighton have 36 - that's eight points to make up.
-
I cannot disagree with that. I so hope you are wrong though. Mainly the £500 I had on us to win the league at 4/1 hopes you are wrong...
-
Hmmm Dell Days needs to read this then. Because he doesn't think we kicked on last season. But we must have done because we ended on 73 points and yet only had 19 afetr 19 games...
-
I agreed with your first point but where do you get 67 points from? If you factor our additional points this season (ie 9 more) into last season's performance we would end up with 82 points wouldn't we?? Overall, though, I agree with you. Some people are saying we've progressed. We' haven't. The same weaknesses people complained about under Pardew remain - a lack of consistency and failure to put away the bad teams. We should be dominating the league. However, I give Adkins the benefit. Maybe after a few additions in January and more time with the team, we will do just that!

Knives sharpening for Adkins already

Low expectations my friend. Why is losing inevitable? I bet your life Roger Federer doesn't believe that.
