Should have been his. He is 6ft plus his arms - it must be his ball, must be.

Both goals, very, very poor.

League Table since Adkins - indications for 2nd half of season?

We should. And we will. Just so long as the players keep working hard. Then their talent will easily see us home. -
League Table since Adkins - indications for 2nd half of season?

Er,that would be a fair comparison, of course... -
That makes it twice as likely as it was earlier...

Under the Dutch jokers I watched us play beautfiul football. Genuinely. Sometimes it was sublime. We were relegated. Chelsea can afford to worry about how they play football now that they have won the league a few times. When we have I will give a stuff how we play, until then winning is all. -
So after all this nonsense, exactly how many burglaries have there been in my street over the past 12 months?

Are people moaning that we won? Feckwits. WE WON All else totally irrelevant. We can with the league with a goal off someone's arse winning every game 1-0 for all I care. Let's just win the league and then worry about playing football some other time. -

That presupposes that all things other than our result were constant. And that is just bonkers. If we had won, a whole alternative future would have proceeded from that outcome... -

You're missing the point which is that Ferguson can change his shape more easily because he has access to world class players who can also play our players out of the game whatever position they are in... It wasn't our shape that cost us. It was two errors from League One footballers... And yes, on another day we could and maybe should have won. Had we not made those mistakes, had Harding shot better, had Dickson not screwed up... But those things will happen to us more often than they happen to United for a reason! And that completely overlooks the fitness difference that comes from playing Premiership standard football every week. -
What can we take forward from yesterday..
Legod Third Coming replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
No, but if Lallana had been on the pitch maybe someone else would have been in the position to score so it's kind of immaterial. What the stats prove is that we are a better team with Lallana in it, but then that's like stats proving it's colder in winter than summer... I think what Alpine is getting at (and I tend to agree with him) is that it is not Lallana's football per se which improves the team, but perhaps he inspires a little more belief in the team which means they play better asa whole unit because of his presence. Here the stats do suggest this is the case as we simple haven't won without him. -

The reality is that most of those players have played or will play in the Champions' League. Do you think United have a first team of world beaters and then some lads who were previously kicking the ball around on Newton Heath?? You need to get some persective mate. Players like Evans have been scouted by the biggest club in the world to play for the biggest club in the world... Some fans have criticised Adkins for being a worse manager than Ferguson with his tactics. Just think about that. There is little doubt that Alex Ferguson is the best manager in the world. So why would Adkins be tactically superior?? We ran United bloody close yesterday and only lost because we made mistakes. Why did we make them? Because we have League One standard players because we are in League One... And as for Ryan Giggs being 37. How has he performed in the Premiership? I thought to help, I would list below the teams who have beaten United in the league this season with Giggs in the team (and out of the team as well): -

Adkins bottled it? Ah yes, he couldn't counter Fergie's tactical decision to bring on Nani (£80k a week) and Ryan Giggs (possibly the best left-footed player of the past decade)... Sometimes you have to accept that we are a League One side with League One standard players who ALL excelled themselves against the best team in the world. -

I would say Adkins tactics were spot on. We gave the game away with errors but otherwise looked to be the better side and in control of the game... -

Mistakes are the difference between Premiership and League One aren't they really? And that difference was wafer thin today. Without two simple mistakes we would be in the draw tomorrow. Cut those out and this team, with Lallana back, could well go on to win this league and compete very well in the next one up. Well played to all the lads and best not to dwell on the slips that cost us. I hate losing but I'm glad we can now focus all our efforts on thumping Exeter. They will have been watching! -
Respect yo your efforts!

I have no issues at all with the way the club is being run. It's bang on the money. We are buying our way out of the league as well as investing in the future. It's the perfect balance. And if we sell Oxo for £10m, well it helps us continue to build for the future. That's the only way to look at it. -

No, I don't. But I think some of our fans need a reality check too. Most of the good players we produce will leave. That's just football. Shame but it's because they have agents and will be offered silly money to sit on the bench somewhere and most of 'em will take it, sadly,,,, -

Mainly because when the last Chairman focused on the Academy he did so totally at the expense of the first team. Thankfully, the purchase of De Prado, Lambert, Barnard, Richardson, etc tells you that this Chairman has his head screwed on a little tighter!! -
You are constructing a bus lane? Tsk. You have gone down in my estimation

Those who look at Barca and Arsenal and admire their youth and growth policies forget that those clubs can only achieve this because of their status on the world stage. The minute we produce talent in League One it will most likely leave. Not because we want them to, but because the player decides his future not us. And any player given an option to build something here or move to Barcelona, won't think twice. The reality is surely that we must continue to mix homegrown and purchased talent rather like... er every club in the world... -
