  1. Did I imagine a discussion about this on 5L this morning?
  2. Be united? Sure, after all most of us were born over 200 miles from Old Trafford....
  3. OK, sounds like what we need. Just so long as he can play.
  4. Play like that again and you can kiss your points goodbye.
  5. A month ago if someone had told me that £20m worth of talent could not beat a team dicked by Dagenham and bleeding Redbridge, I would have sent them along to see my shrink for a quick course of electrocution and a warning to lay off the wacky backy... Having enjoyed the company of Charlton fans before and after the game, in their view, we are a worse footballing side than just about any of the top half of the table... And we were. Awful. People claim Pardew was a hoof merchant but all we did all bloody game was gave me a stiff neck. And frankly, I could just suck Viagra for that. All I can say about last night is that I would rather I'd stayed in the Bugle Horn with a jug of Bombadier!!! Even flat it had more fizz than our woeful excuse of a midfield. What is wrong with Chaplow? Has he been hypnotised by that bloke who went on Top Gear and made Hammond forget how to drive a car? And if Nguessan can play for Southampton, I can play the Black Swan for the Bolshoi.... Jesus. I'm an eternal optimist but that in a word, was pants.
  6. I can also confirm that Rupert was at Cheltenham last week if anyone really cares what the man does in his own time...
  7. Finally found a moment to comment. We were boody rubbish last night. Not sure what else merits comment?
  8. Is that not what you would wear in the Alps....
  9. "Gordon, can we have a quick word?" "Yeah, velocity..." walks off...
  10. That's the problem though... how can you drive a bus in a building? After all, Sun Tzu says: "You cannot ride the 68 to Southall from the office canteen"...
  11. Like I said, I won't complain while we get results, but you yourself called the first half dog shyte... But you do't want ideas to improve it??
  12. True, it's working but only just. When we come up against a good side, we'll need to raise our game. But then I'm sure we will. You could see how exposed we were against Peterborough. The lack of mobility allowed them to have far too much of the ball and we did the same last night. The difference last night was that Wednesday couldn't use the ball and couldn't finish a ham sandwich. All the time we get results I'm not complaining but if you were looking to improve the side (which we should always do) then it's CM that you would look, in my view, that's all.
  13. I think that's because we play a different way now. Last season the aim was to give it to Lambert!!
  14. Our defence is fine! The midfield looks disjointed I think because Chaplow and Hammond are too similar. It looked far better against Swindon when Morgan came on.
  15. I agree. I'm not impressed with our midfield at the moment. We're getting results but it's the midfield that looks most exposed and least comfortable.
  16. No. I'm more hardcore than Ron Jeremy but I was forced to watch from home...
  17. Our coach used to bollock us if we played a ball over 40 yards. It drove mental mind as I could hit a cow's balls let alone his arse from that sort of distance... It was a good discipline though. We rarely gave the ball away and only ever hoofed it under severe pressure at the back.
  18. Totally, this was one area where Pardew failed us miserably. We won countless corners and never used them.
  19. Funny, you never hear the Barca fans moaning when they retain possession...
  20. Sponsorship is on its knees as a discipline right now. I was offered a deal for £400k that is now £100k to sponsor 14 major sporting events, and even now the client is only thinking about it... I would say that £200k for a League One club with next to no coverage on terrstrial TV is a great deal at this time. If it was 2006, it would be an insult.
  21. Yeah, yeah... whatever you want...
  22. If you're referring to the 'passing game', who would you like to be a fan of tonight, Arsenal or United?? I'll take Fergie any day, much as I love watching Arsenal in full flow... There is only one team in the world who play passing football every game and still win trophy after trophy, and we're a few years off needing to compete with them!
  23. I agree. Goals count, passing doesn't. Once we get into the Premiership and start challenging for the top six, then we can start worrying about how we play!!
  24. There's no doubt Adkins is doing a good job. His predecesessor did a shocking one. The bloke before that also did a good job. If it were not for the Wilkins debacle, we could easily be top, or at least within a point or two of Brighton. Cortese has cost me a significant sum of money! Thankfully, I should get my stake back as I backed us each way, but really with our resources we should have won this league in a hack canter. If only Brighton would slip up we still might nick it, but that could just be my wallet talking...
  25. The main reason to get out of this league is so that when someone shows highlights of our games, they do so through a broadcast quaility camera from the correct angles and not via an eight-year old's iPhone at the back of the stand... Strange that they could have a decent camera filming Clem with a Director of Photography, accurate lighting and a proper edit, but they couldn't be arsed to do the same with the game... MESSAGE to football programme editors: I don't give a feck what Brian in Brighampton thinks about Peterborough's chances of lifting the Champions' League in 20 years time. I don't give a feck what Clem says about the last time a chip shop burnt down preventing the home fans from enjoying a Saveloy on the way home. I don't give a flying feck if Steve Claridge played for Weymouth or AC fecking Milan. I am a football fan. I want to watch FOOTBALL... To understand how I feel, let's show eight laps of the Grand Prix and two hours of Eddie Jordan shopping in Bahrain high street...
