  1. Lack of grammar, capitalisation, punctuation and total inability to spell. I think we know what you are Dune - my old English teacher!
  2. Nothing to do with Adkins. Our record against Ince? Played five, won five.
  3. I am very good friends with Alan Pardew's lawyer - in fact, she's my lawyer too. And I would advise some people to start saving.
  4. I know for a fact that 96.3% of stories on this forum are total cobblers. And that78% of statistics are made up on the spot...
  5. Probably off to bang on a bar door...
  6. Has he been given the freedom of Southampton?
  7. Depends if he was the bloke who found Bale. If he was we just kissed goodbye to God.
  8. Let's all enjoy kicking a minnow of the modern game... The right decision was reached. All we need to do is announce prices and then market the game effectively - perhaps even help the Shrews to do the same. After all, we'd all prefer the stadium full, right?
  9. Get in! Come on you stripes!
  10. Rethink a team that only lost 9 games last season and from October had automatic promotion form? I think you're looking in the wrong place. Unless Adkins needs to rebuild another team. Still plenty of time to turn this game around mind. Keep the faith...
  11. Maybe it was firing a successful manager? Not backing him wholeheartedly, and undermining 12 months good work. Maybe not... But I know where my money is.
  12. He's a good example though. Bood in one game and then commented on it, single handedly ran the next two games to shove it down the fans' throat. That is the reaction of a professional sportsman (apart from his little piece to camera which is just because he is thick as sh i t). Montgomerie is another example. Always allowed the crowd to affect his game. Whereas Tiger (before the problems) would simply react to the crowd and STILL win countless majors...
  13. ANY player who is negatively affected by booing is NOT a professional sportsman and will fundamentally not succeed at the highest level. This is basic pyschology of sport. (And I do not condone booing).
  14. I don't believe any rumours but when the WHOLE of football was talking about how long it would be before Pardew was sacked you end up thinking, no fire without fire...
  15. The challenge is that NC has undoubtedly given Adkins a target of promotion. What does that mean week to week? Currently we are three points above relegation with a shoddy goal difference by comparison to those who are really competing. I have no idea what Cortese might have in mind for 'milestones' but given his decision to fire Pardew, I imagine he doesn't accept the losses lightly... regardless of who beats us. So the pressure is there now, and in spades. And in a way, rightly so. If you had spent the kind of money Cortese encouraged Markus to spend, you would expect a very quick return too, I'm sure. Does this look like a team who are nailed on for promotion, might squeak promotion, will probably not be promoted? I don't know. But pretty soon it needs to look like the former or the Chairman will have his finger poised on the trigger, that much seems obvious. This is nothing to do with my view (which is always that managers need to build a team/club), this is the reality of the situation the Chairman has created.
  16. I really hope you are wrong (obviously, as you do) but I have a huge fear that he cannot or will not be able to cope with the pressure. At Scunny there were no expectations. Here the expectation is (rightly) sky high. You cannot invest millions in a playing squad in League One and not dominate the league. The players and resources are in place now. Results must follow and quickly otherwise you are right, Adkins will be out and the process will start again... I felt we needed a manager used to managing a big club with high expectations - one that could have been encouraged here by finance, if nothing else. Not a 'big name' for the sake of it, but someone used to having immense wealth behind them pushing and pressuring them. Adkins may be able to grow and become this man, but people must stop asking for him to be given time. It's the one thing our Chairman will NOT give him, so for us to espouse the 'wait and see' approach is simply setting him up to fail. It's a shame more people cannot see this, rather than simply believing that expecting results now is some sort of short-term whim...
  17. I think it needs eith a striker who can play in Adkins style or a more pragmatic approach to the use of Rickie Lambert. While Lambert looks still a way off fitness, when he is fit, I don't believe he suits the slick, passing interplay style of Adkins. He is suited to a more direct style - maybe one of the reasons Pardew played that way? He's not mobile or pacey enough for the way we played against Tranmere, albeit he is perfectly suited to balls whipped in from the angles!
  18. I'm not convinced that's all true. Last season we regularly came back from conceding to either win or snatch a late draw - certainly we never lacked for want of trying, more for lack of guile, tactics and pace. However, I do agree that if the criticism of Pardew was inconsistency (which I would grudgingly recognise), nothing has changed. That is most alarming. I cannot abide the people who think we need time. Time to do what? We have the best resources and best squad in this league. The decision to jettison Pardew is one that I can abide, so long as we soon start to demonstrate that it was to move forward and not to tread water, which current performances have an uncomfortable feeling of...
  19. I'm not forcing views on anyone. There is no proof of anything needed unless you don't believe the Chairman. I can only comment on what he said and what he said was he sacked the manager because he wasn't going to meet the targets set by the club. Of course, he might be lying. I'm not.
  20. Amen. He was appointed to do a better job than Pardew. He's had long enough. He's got the resources. He's got to get results. So let's see what he's really made off. This is not Scunny, this is the Real Madrid of League One. This is real pressure. Rise to it Nigel. I'm sure he will.
  21. I said at the time, Tranmere were hopeless however good we might have looked. Tranmere showed how good they are today, as did we. There is a long way to go. I wish Adkins would speed up whatever it is he's doing. If we're not promoted this season, then what??
  22. Learn what exactly? He's a fecking football manager not studying for GCSE maths. This is a poor result. With our resources, when exactly do we start to play to the standard our Chairman aspires?
  23. Meet the new boss, exactly the same as the old boss - possibly a bit worse.
  24. I'm beginning to think you are either stupid, bored or both. The Chairman did not say expectations. He said TARGETS. Those are HIS words. Not mine. Not conjecture. Not summary. Not paraphrase.... Perhaps what he meant was "one of our targets is that the manager should not sleep with a player's wife". Perhaps in your bizarre world that's exactly what he meant. Perhaps that's why he sacked the Manager and his coaches. Perhaps all three were in a bunk up on The Northam. Anyway I am now offically bored of this and off to watch QPR Norwich.
