There a lot of logic in what you say, but then " older heads " can recall untried youngsters like; Bobby Stokes, Tony Funnell, Steve Moran, and Alan Shearer... of yes ....and " that Le Tissier fellow." ...(but I agree).. it's taking a chance, but must we wait another 10 games for Pellé to regain his goal scoring form.? Seager needs a chance, at his age we need to know if he's " one for the future ", or cut him loose and then see he turns out to be another Ings, or Phillips.

I have to agree. But his lazy-looking style of moving (that tall men often have) made him look slow and cumbersome, but he put away a lot of good chances. At that time, Rasiak was one of only 3 players who had scored 20 goals in a season (for us), going way to the old Div 1 days. NOTE: the others who made 20, or more;...MLT and James Beattie. (prior to them...it was Colin Clarke (1986-87).

I'm not sure there's any guarantee of that, as we know .... a lot can happen on the last day of the season.....

so was I .. I really couldn't believe what I was seeing. The foul was bad enough.. but pushing the ref. like that, too..... Prutton did have his days, but his long absence, amd other injuries ......and Crouch's (later) red card near the end of the season gave us no chance of survival.

Koeman was questioned about the Barcelona vacancy (a week or so ago), he replied he has a contract with Saints that he intended to honour. End of.

I agree he's not the first team level (of course he hasn't been tried)....but he's a good finisher inside the box, and that's something we need right now. I don't see him as cover for Pellé, but he's worth a try for an hour, now and again. If we don't start scoring soon we'll end up mid-table by May.

Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
david in sweden replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
......although like Lallana (at Bournemouth first), there may be a sell-on clause in Clyne's contract which would give some "development" cash to Palace? -
Hooiveld to return and then head to Millwall?
david in sweden replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Agreed. I don't know why people are so quick to criticise them. They were good at that level, but that was it. Very few ever thought we'd get back-to-back promotions, and if we'd had 1 or 2 seasons more in the Championship, they'd have been invaluable. There's no shame in finding your proper level, and that was it ..for them, and a few others. What seems to annoy some fans is that they are still on the books. -

.......and better than L1 , which looks like Millwall's fate next season. -
If Man U. are (reportedly?) paying Rooney £300K / week, it shows they have money to spend, so £100K is about par for the course for their players. Of course only MU can judge if he's worth it. FFP rules fall heavily on the balance between income and fees /salaries. Our income is small in comparison. Apart from worldwide fans (don't know how many shirts that is?)...and the huge sponsorship deals...filling a 75, 000 stadium every match must be fairly profitable, too.

Managers can't do everything right, but RK has to give serious thought to his love affair with Pellè and Tadic. Neither of them looks a patch on what they were before Christmas. Pelle's confidence has totally left him and he looks really dispirited. We should start with Long (and/or) even Seager (to see what they can deliver) and let GP have a spell on the bench. We're creating more chances / having more possession in almost every game, but no-one can put the chances away.

Oh ....I agree with that!. Nearly every Spuds fan I've met in the last 50 years, seemed to think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, despite the fact that only their grandfathers can remember those " Glory, Glory Days ". If they think that Pochettino will restore that, they need to hold their breath until after the League Cup Final....and to think MP dismissed the Cup competitions (with us) last season as irrelevant, and of no value. A defeat v. Chelsea would leave them dependent on finishing above us.... and that's a thought to savour.
-
if you'd ask me a season or two ago, I would say he was a nailed-on target for Arsenal. He'd be perfect in their midfield which is so dependent on an injury-prone Aaron Ramsay, and "Smokin' Jack" Wilshere. Özil is a good player (IMO), but I just never see him fitting in properly. Wenger's preference for French players is obvious, although I'm sure that the fact they both come from Strasborg wouldn't have had any bearing on that decision, it now feels that someone maybe opening the door for Arsene, after almost 19 years.... the success has been very thin in the last 10 years (aside from last years FA Cup that is).....and to think that until last week they were still struggling to overtake us in the Prem....even with the depth of their squad. If Arsenal's season fails to deliver Euro football and Wenger were to go...the attraction of yet another Frenchman in the squad might not appeal to a new manager.....

and that .. as they say ..is Hysteri-cal somehow I think the reception he got at SMS last Sunday will be considered quite mild.... compared to the one he'll get back at Anfield.
-
and of course, money doesn't come into it at all. I mean..... .who would want to earn £5 million a year, when they could be quite happy on £2 million?
-
ER......£20 million did you say? ...sorry! no comment ....yes I mean it ....no comment what is there to say?.....
-
.....and to think that Brendan Rodgers paid £20 million for a player to take them OUT of a European competition .....what will he think of next?
-
The answer to the OP.....will become apparent after our games at Stamford Bridge....and Citeh. Losing those 6 points will be crucial to any potential Euro success. If we are " good enough " to come away from those two games with points in the bag, then we might be OK..... ......otherwise... it's back to the drawing board (sorry )...." The Black Box" to plan next season.
