I did not have a go at Crouch for laying off 50 staff but questioned how he may have been perceived by those 50 in addition to his current staff for throwing large and potentially job saving sums at a football club deserted by many of it's fanbase. IMO another PR disaster for Crouch and I believe proves my point that charitable donations are best given anonomously. As for Radio Hampshire it was the staff's job to make the station competitive and innovative and it seems to me they relied in the end on some serial Lowe bashing and general 'shock-jock' tactics that would only appeal to an audience that have proven themselves to be largely apathetic. Dennis was about as appealing as Kyle and Gaunt - ok in very small doses but almost impossible to listen to for a whole show because of a lack of quality and need for something a bit more balanced.

LOL - never forget last season under Burley when we played Burnley away. I tuned in to learn we were playing Burley and Burnley was our manager and he made the same mistake for the whole game. That's entertainment! Tbh I'm glad Radio Hants has gone as their coverage was becoming depressing and some of the people who phoned in after the games were more boring and depressing than David Armstrong. David Armstrong's whose stock answer to the tough questions was: ' I can't comment as it never happened to me as a player'. That fact seemed to stop him having an opinion! Also, how slow was the results service on Radio Hants and it always seemed to be wrong as well. Thank god they are history along with Cider Bob and the TT lovefest. Cider Bob who could always manage to drive to a layby to get reception but not the extra 20 miles to attend a game - priceless he got air time. One point of reflection perhaps Osman's radio show on a Sunday morning is on the wrong station.

Caught me mid flow. Sorry Az.

Thanks for the info on the Welsh teams, genuinely interested on that issue and the whole debate about Celtic and Rangers joining the English leagues. As regards MK Dons scenario it may still depend on the buyer. Is it inconceivable a property developer could have more grandiose plans? A different team and a new ground. In the meantime has Jackson and Green been used as prey to encourage the hunter to break cover? Sitting ducks seems to have been a persistent theme.

alice? Union Bank of Switzerland? Sounds like a Nursery Cryme....
-
Lowe warned him of the dangers of believing 'follow you, if you'll follow me'. Now he appears to prefer to be selling England by the pound and living in Switzerland. Collins not Lowe, who remains focussed on the whole Ireland thing.

Micky, not sure I'd be up for it but would suit all those last season who prefered to travel away from SMS to get their Saints fix. Probably get a chance to rename the team like MK Dons, loads of good naming potential with the ties between Belfast and Southampton.
-
So can we deduce that Fry has used Jackson purely as bait to expediate action from the Irish Bhoys and Pinnacle. Hence, the allegedly free look afforded Jackson and Green? Didn't realise this season was going to have quite so many home games in it.

Streetwalkers, kerb crawlers same name different route. Still I guess it will be soon for all to decide 'with or without you' once again. Just hope this is not a ploy to get a club in the football league relocated to Northern Ireland. With the likes of Linfield and Coleraine there must be a market in a resurgent city like Belfast for the chance of top flight English football or SFC. Very slim chance of it happening I guess but why do Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham play in the English leagues when there is a Welsh league? Who'd have thought Wimbledon would move to a hockey stadium in the up and coming Milton Keynes? It's not as though Belfast and Southampton don't have a strong link courtesy of the Titanic. SB Titanic - don't know why, but I like that name, has a certain familiarity to it.

Sorry Buctootim you've lost me, is that where most of our infamous boycotters live?

Probably on a short list and one who must have demonstrated an ability for the role. I guess you are close to being offered a proper job. Good luck. Will you be required to work Sundays?
-
Doubt it. Must be 20 years now and he still hasn't found what he's looking for. Flucking sunglasses can't help.

Likewise Jackson .

OK - how do you know btw? Facts please.

Agreed, 49 of which who don't use social networking sites

Just like the sad anti-Lowites trying to get into Saints Aid! Apathy rules. Crouch's apparent ignorance to the financial situation when he replaced Dulieu and the his reliance on waiting for investment then IMO we wouldn't have made Christmas. Still it's all irrelevant now and let's hope Jackson and Green deliver and appoint a decent CEO.....
-
Or Non-executive director, ticket sales supervisor or groundsman IMO. However, someone the new owners should keep on side of though to ensure he buys a corporate box for the season.
-
Get back in charge? IMO he wasn't in charge of things the first time around. Very, very, worrying f he actually believes he can achieve it but the man has shown himself to be somewhat deluded with his aspirations in the past with regard's to club's the future so hopefully he is kidding himself once again. Did it mention a timeframe? 3 months, 6 months, 9 months? Premiership in 2 seasons to claim our righful place that we've held for less that 30% of our total existence. Jackson is accused of being delusional but at least he has the key to the cupboards so is clearly operating on something other than just Crouch like hope.

My respect for Leon Crouch evaporated around January 2008 when I considered he was less than straight with the fans. Respect is earned and personally I prefer if people don't try to buy mine.
-
Ditto, its for geeks wannabees and spotty kids. Frankly, I'm surprised a businessman of Crouch's stature goes in for this type of crap. Thought all his social networking took place in the golf club but then we are back to saddos in silly trousers.
-
Posting on facebook? Leon needs to work out if he is simply one of the fans or someone to be taken seriously with regard to any future role in the club. Personally, I prefer my directors past , present and future to keep their counsel until the time is appropriate for a press release. IMO it's a touch more professional than using social networking sites to feed the rumour mill. Pity Crouch is not able to rise above it.

I agree Wes you can't have effect before the cause but IMO fans tried to pre-empt the cause hence the effect came before the the results were known if you get my drift. The only way our top 3 strikers could have been retained IMo was if we had been able to release Euell and/or Skacel. The financial straitjacket IMO did lead us to release players where they were wanted and those who weren't or refused to accept terms remained on our books and in the case of Skacel hindered our chances of survival on and off the pitch. Of course things could have been different and we could see where Crouch was going to take us but perhaps the real bottom line is that it was a still a very difficult juggling act and differnet decisions than Lowe made would have given no guarantee of success. The fact we got to just a handful of games from the end of the season and for the sake of an O/d limit exceeded by about 5% then with new S?T sales we may have made it. Better results were not guaranteed as Pearson proved the season before but the only way to guarantee an increase large or small was for Lowe to walk away. That action would have been counter-intuitive to his desire to save the club and strange that a personality could cause fans to deliberately harm their club. I guess Wes we will never agree and I've just realised I said I wouldn't respond. Not keeping to my promises i must be turning into Leon 'investment is 3 months away' Crouch.
