  1. I have no doubt that in time you will once again find unjustified cause to abandon all thought of buying any form of ticket or membership. You are the epitome of a puerile football fan who will spit out their dummies as soon as something happens that you don't like. We can only be pleased that those who have run the club and hopefully those that will run the club in the future have been a little more resolute in their commitment to the club and it's survival and hopefully success. Provided we don't live by your rules where success is an unrealistic given. BTW, Phil I am comfortable with my decision not to contribute a penny to SOS for the simple reason that the club could not issue a target to be achieved and show how progress was being made against that target. Kids stuff really IMO and even Crouch understood that it may have felt like given to a 'black hole' and tried to reassure us otherwise. As the players wages were guaranteed by the League the I don't understand why the club simply focussed on those lower down the payscale and those individuals would not have been under any restrictions to honour their contracts should they have used the opportunity to look elsewhere. The uncomfortable 24 hours for those staff to be frank is nothing compared to other many others goinf through similar situations and you only have to look at the car industry where many are making huge personal sacrifices to save the companies and their careers. The Saints staff have IMO as yet had to suffer the extent of those that are suffering elsewhere so perhaps that's a stick you should put away for now.
  2. None. Time to move forward with a clean slate and I remain somewhat concerned about Matt's future role and any unhelpful allegiances he may have with faces from the past that may prove troublesome should he choose to look beyond his own counsel and those he has now hooked up with.
  3. You must have a very big pram you petulant adult baby..
  4. Not at all DW because i don't believe you advocated boycotting the club as a means to saving it despite our differences. ST or single ticket you still supported the revenue of the club in fact you were more beneficial than myself as you probably paid more.
  5. Ruin a thread and supported his club. You are more troll like than the past masters of such activity. Bring back Corp Ho and Scooby. Are you still googling user names?
  6. 'Of good and evil much they argued then, Of happiness and final misery, Passion and apathy, and glory and shame, Vain wisdom all, and false philosophy'. Milton - Paradise (still) lost Many haven't agreed with me but my passion and commitment to the club has never wavered regardless of my personal opinions. Stanley you represent everything that is apathetic and shameful about football supporters and unfortunately we have more than our fair share and it's highly ironic indeed that you choose to bump this thread today not knowing if greater evils personal to you lie ahead that may yet cause you to reverse quicker than an Italian tank.
  7. 'Our torments also may in length of time Become our elements' Milton - Paradise Lost
  8. Exactly, and presumably without the pressure applied by the other bidders the presumed strength of the Pinnace bid may not have been achieved. In any event until the identity of the backer(s) and the structure of the club in our brave new world is known then the rumour and conjecture will continue. The fact they wish their identity to remain a secret is a sign IMO that due diligence is not simply an exercise in rubber stamping and therefore we can only remain hopeful this concludes with a positive result we can all agree on.
  9. Can any of the those who seem to know more than most, Weston, FF, Doggface, Phil, Morph, Um Pahars, etc, confirm that no past or present directors exec or otherwise will be involved or offered a position in the brave new world. 21 days will seem like a lifetime but it will seem easier knowing this is the dawning of a new era and not relying on some tired faces from the past to drum up support. Until the backer(s) are known and structure communicated assuming the club satisfy due diligence I remain only cautiously optimistic and as Weston mentioned there is still a long way to go and the celebration and bubbling hysteria really needs to be put on ice for 3 weeks. It doesn't help some posters criticising Fry for simply doing his job. I am also a little concerned about MLT's future role. The man is a legend in the true sense of the word but he could seriously damage that image if he is given a role that does not make the best use of his talents or puts the regard he is held in, unnecessarily on the line or at risk. IMO I don't think he should be chairman or manager but would be obviously a great non-exec director with an an ambassadorial role that we have so badly lacked in the past IMO. Sir Bobby Charlton at Man U would be IMO the type of role I would like to see Matt play and above any past, present or future politics. The advice he can give behind the scenes will undoubtedly be invaluable.
  10. Agreed, Fry is just doing his job and depending on which side of the fence you sit your opinion on how he has performed is very likely to be jaundiced in some way. Fry's role has been more akin to a football referee and I doubt he ever set out to be anyone's hero but to act on behalf of those who had most to lose to ensure that role was performed in accordance with regulations regarding these matters. Good posts Phil but IMO you let your emotions run away with you with regard to your Fry comment. Just a bloke doing his job and a fairly thankless one at that. Greenridge, I have made a note of this historic event where we seem to be in agreement for the first. Perhaps, it's a sign of the times or reason to be quietly or cautiously optimistic.
  11. Hello I must be going? Will the groundsman be happy with our Swiss connection - apparently he's 'just a lawnmower you can tell by the way he walks'.
  12. I think not. Have you checked the condition of your roof recently? My thatch will need replacing soon.
  13. Funnier than Osman IMO but so are the Krankies, Bernie Clifton, Biggins et al. The Only person not as 'funny' as Osman is Tarrant. Odious individual IMO.
  14. He had some Strange Ways.
  15. Maybe so but we still waiting for you to give us a chuckle.
  16. The events of the past 3 years or you writing a book given the quality of your word play in your pseudonym? It's nothing like the plot of the Da Vinci Code who are the Knights Templar? The Sacred feminine? Opus Dei? Merovingians? Priory of Sion? Perhaps you allude to the great cover up but I don't remember any European Tour in the last 3 years and Paris and Rome were central to the plot weren't they? Its a story about apathy, unrealistic expectations and false promises whereas the Da Vinci Code is about belief, commitment and unstinting support and passion for your beliefs and ability to understand signs and symbols to avert disaster.
  17. You must be a skate;)
  18. Agreed but the level of unemployment is now over 2m and rising and plenty of other local people are feeling the pinch and facing the real risk of losing their homes. The best way for the staff at SMS to avoid becoming another statistic is to hang in there, stay close to their personal bankers and lenders and hope the club can find another buyer and soon. I think you should remain concerned and focussed on the club finding a buyer regardless of who they are. I think your perspective and sentiment is misplaced or badly worded.
  19. I'm sure they were notified of the risks and were probably free to leave as soon as the annoucement was made. In my experience what they are going through is pretty much par for the course. Not nice but the way it is. What is interesting is if the players wages are covered by the football league then are we saying we can't cover what must be a fairly small residual wage run with the players taken out. How big was Crouch's donation and how has that been used along with the proceeds from the rest of SOS?
  20. Just another misguided soul or wanting to avoid laying the blame elsewhere just in case the door is left ajar.
  21. Darren with respect put your money in one of Barclays very competitive savings accounts until such time we hopefully need to buy a season ticket.
  22. Good idea until we get invaded and then have to hope that someone will bail us out / fight our corner. Do you think Leon Crouch might have some French lineage?
  23. To protect people like you
  24. Don't think so when they offer one of the best ISA rates at 3.61% and a massive savings rate of 6% on a regular savers account up to £250pm. Direct your anger at some of those overpaid footballers who could have taken a 50% hit on their salary to ensure those lower down the food chain got paid. My guess is that if Barclays could walkaway from the the Premiership they would as RBS have proved the folly of over doing the sports sponsorship. Decent community club, hard done by staff, Barclays spending millions to prop up its own business not to mention what it wastes in advertising and sponsorship. I think it's time we all wake up to teh reality of administration the same as any other customer or employee of a much loved organisation. Barclays want what they are entitled to because we failed to generate a bit of extra revenue to avoid busting our credit limit by a couple of hundred thousand. Lets look within ourselves before we start acting petulantly towards a bank or other convienient scapegoats. It's not Barclays fault we folded a winning hand.
  25. Solent represents Public Service Broadcasting at it's comical best (apart from Sunday mornings). Gordon its a pity you didn't hear how to remove the residue from a sheep's wool around it's anus as you may not have inadvertently given your wife blue tongue. Anyway that piece was on Countryfile last Sunday evening, put me off my weekly roast and had to ask the wife to put a dab of mint sauce behind her ears so I could finish eating.
