Which is the whole undisputed point. One thing chucking in some comparative loose change as a donation to earn some brownie points to get your name on a public list for those who gave over £1,000 another thing entirely commiting real effort to delivering some disparate investors to provide a rescue bid for the club. Doesn't say much for some of our other legends and uber fans held in such high regard by many and at least Jackson showed some determination and guile to do something positive for the future. Just my opinion but if Jackson is the focus of ridicule and anger then perhaps a few should be holding up a mirror.

Says the bloke whose role model appears to be Howard Marks the drug smuggler. Not Nice
-
Maybe, he was invisible between the two takeover sagas so could we assume he was guesting on the Richard and Judy show on Don't Watch Channel?
-
Not exactly a stick to beat him with as other people more revered by the fan base have shown similar weaknesses.
-
Phil, unfortunately, 'blind prejudice' is endemic within our fanbase and we will never be rid of it. Having a justifiable opinion is one thing jumping on the bandwagon just bacause everyone else has in another thing entirely.
-
Exactly. (Sorry Nick didn't see this before my post above)

And the Pinnacle consortium was united from the off?

For once I am in agreement with Alpine and it seems judging by Jackson's comments my thoughts were correct that Jackson was used as a tool to apply pressure on preferred bidders. As long as it secures the best deal for the club I don't really care but no reason to knock the bloke as he clearly played an important role in the bargaining process.

Sorry don't know him. What position did he play? Was he part of the Charlie Wayman era? Bit before my time.
-
You don't think we'll be walking down Rupert Lowe Way on match days then?

Blame or buck samething isn't it? Are you deliberately trying to raise my post count?

Not without lube -
Clearly not that common. Who was AC's boss? The buck stops at the top and so do the plaudits.

I accept the comment about the manager but I was not suggesting Matty will be manager and agree if anything he will perform a role similar to Quinn who after a good start is looking a little more shaky. Point is though no matter how big the legend if you go back you will ultimately be judged on your current and not past performance. How many newcastle fans will want Keegan back. I hope it doesn't happen to MLT but I think he is taking a massive risk with regard to his 24ct reputation and I respect him for that and hope he can deliver.

Hope he doesn't log in anytime soon as he will wonder wtf a mod and a troll have been doing sussing out his profile.

Hopefully, the new owner won't read your honest assessment because that remains below the break even levels so the taps will need to be on from the start before a player is signed. -
How was SaintAid?

The stadium that Rupert built.

Why do you find it so hard to accept the alternative view. I think it is more than reasonable to question the resolution of any supporter who simply withdraws their support based on a personality. At least the plastics admit they only want to watch Premier League rather than manufacture excuses and dress themselves as being ever so slightly smug and superior to the rest of us. For the record John Smith its never tough supporting my club even if I have to dig myself out of a 6 foot snow drift to attend a game like the Sheff Utd when I just made it to join the crowd and balance the numbers on the two benches. To add to your pain you can stuff your sympathy back where it belongs.

The one where we might prove we can achieve an average gate of 21k+ regardless of match (just a run of the mill mid season league game) performance or league position now the club's nemesis, for so many (at least for the 500 regular posters on this forum) has been removed. -
Shouldn't you be out looking for your boys?
-
Hunting with your usual pack I see. Hopefully you start searching and achieve your preference.

Usual rubbish Um I see and still believing the majority on this forum represents the wider fan base when clearly it does not as proven by recent protest marches and fund raising events. Other than a heavy reliance on this forum how were those fund raising events publicised? I won't be holding my breath but one day you may actually get involved with a discussion as oppose to childish name calling. Are you a teacher? Do your students respect you? Finally with regard to MLT he is the greatest player and biggest legend this club has ever had and likely to ever have. However, he now enters a whole new field of expertise and if he is appointed chairman for example then he is in an altogether different ball game and any sensible person would support him but at the same time reserve their judgement following a suitable period of probation. IMO his playing style and general demeanour don't exactly shout football chairman but if he can deliver then undoubtedly there could be no one better and more respected but at the moment nothing is certain and hysterical celebrations are unhelpful as they unfairly raise the level of expectation.

Please show me a post of mine where I have slagged off MLT. Questioning a person's approach to a radio interview is different to 'slagging him off'. Didn't Ian Wright say on Talk Sport not so long ago that Newcastle, Southampton and Coventry fans were the worst in the country with their over inflated expectations and constant moaning - or words to that effect. I think there are a number of interesting parallels between us and Newcastle.
