  1. Thanks. What Um also chose to ignore is that I appluaded a Q&A article in the Times with Matt a few days after his (IMO) disappointing interview with Solent. The Times article showed him to be very measured in his assessment of the club's predicament presumably having had time to digest the initially shocking news. The day we appoint anyone at the club whom the fans consider untouchable and beyond reproach because of past reputations, then aren't we in a danger of heading for a repeat of recent events? So MLT should bear scrutiny like anyone else whilst not discounting the high regard he is held in at the club. Not many players have earned a god like status at their club as a player and that is one reputation that I would like MLT to protect at all costs. If MLT decides to take on the role of chairman he will have 100% backing and good will of the whole club and its fans but given the enormity of the task and his experience as a rookie chairman in a very responsible and pressurised role then personally I would prefer someone else to take that role and the risks that will come with it and MLT given a lifelong seat on the board of directors as DoF or something similar. If (god forbid) it goes wrong MLT will hopefully stay at the club reputation in tact as oppose to another chairman through the revolving doors which would be depressing and no other obvious disciples to fill his boots. Its just my opinion and I revere MLT as a player as much as the next fan and its the memories that form the basis of my reverence that I would like to remain unsullied by what could be a thankless task in the long run as Chairman, given our recent history. Its a sincere and well meant opinion and in any event I am looking forward to supporting the new regime as I have all the others regardless of my opinion of any director. Nothing more to say on the subject until Pinnacle annouce their plans.
  2. I sincerely hope this works but can't help thinking it would be better to have an experienced chairman with MLT alongside him on the board.
  3. Stanley, I have not slagged off MLT so please stop repeating yourself by saying I have. I don't particularly like the thought of him being chairman of the FC and would prefer it if he worked alongside a chairman to protect his status at the club. Just an opinion whereas you appear to want Matt to be up on the pedastal and no doubt be the first to slag him off if things don't work out.
  4. How is that Google search going Stanley? You're way to clever for me.
  5. Grow up you sad little man, how are you going to be a smug ITK in the brave new world?
  6. That's just it though, Pearson's strategy didn't work fine and had more basis in luck than judgement. If Pearson had delivered a better win ratio and we were safe with 2 games to go instead of plummeting into the bottom 3 he may have been considered a bit more bankable at the time the decisions were made. To suggest he was so important to the future of the club as at this time last year would be smug after timing at best. It was never a question of knowing better but identifying what you could afford and doing the best you could with that whilst trying to protect and build for the future. The damage had been done in the previous two seasons and Lowe was in the realms of crisis management but the myopic fan and their unrealistic expectations have seemingly failed to grasp that simple concept. Dread to think how some of you manage your own finances.
  7. Tame, once again you don't know what you are talking about and you can only comment on your side. It bears no comparison to the action of others and in your case I responded out of exasperation because you seemed to be getting a kick out of stalking what you laughingly thought was a member of the House of Lords and in public. Yes I thought you were sad and pathetic and still do regrettably. Best switch off your pm function in my experience and if you can't say it in front of others then don't say it and it avoids reading about the double standards of others. Unfortunately, it means for the odd bad apple I am unable to communicate off forum with people I did enjoy chatting with.
  8. I may be many things ESB but an inability to laugh at myself and join the joke is not one of them. I'm no more troll than you are btw.
  9. Alex I hope you are right as that is the role I would like to see MLT in as it does not risk his reputation. I would love him to have a role similar to Charlton's at Man U and a permanent presence as a lifetime board director. For all his undoubted abilities he doesn't strike me as obvious chairman fodder (tbh though neither did Quinn) but if he is given that role as seems to be the general consensus then I fear he could become a fallen hero as much as he could become a bigger legend than Bates. Its 50/50 but IMO I would prefer if MLT was around for the rest of his days with his reputation untarnished and that may not happen given this club's recent history and attitude of some fans.
  10. Indeed, I have merely made an indent into his work for potential quotes. Milton and Shaw are my preferred trolley of choice at the moment.
  11. Provided you don't start obessing again that I am Lord Marland.
  12. In other words: 1. No Strachan 2. No academy to produce bankable assests like Walcott, Bale, Jones, Surman and Gobern;) 3. Yes MLT you know nothing about football so stay out of team affairs. Is that what you mean?
  13. In this country we call them queues.
  14. Very true but 'the anyone but Lowe' Mk1 was followed 3 years later by 'Lowe out and replaced with someone we don't know' Mk2 Don't listen to fans who shout for the sacking of the manager after 1 game. In fact don't listen to the fans and run the club as if you were managing your own personal finances whilst ensuring a comfortable retirement. Has that been done before?
  15. Are you?
  16. Mr NIce would like it under wraps. Figures.
  17. How many results does Google give you for Solent Stars you clever boy?
  18. Ban all posters who send threatening pms
  19. Ahh, the old chestnut about the player one £12k a week who is to fat to do himself justice apart from some inauspicious arm waving during a match suggesting that it was our fault he couldn't get motivated to run as oppose to the bag of brioche and 2l bottle of full fate coke he munched and slurped through on the way to the ground. Lets buy or loan in players who want to prove themselevs as oppose to boost their pension reserve.
  20. Could have written that myself. Point 4 does rely on who delivers the message and if things get bad again we can only hope our fickle fans listen to MLT unlike Lowe and Hone before him and don't simply whinge about the entertainment factor. Its going to be interesting.
  21. People like Wes believe it though.
  22. No academy, no shiny new stadium, no premiership facilities in general, no FA Cup final appearance, no 8 year run in the premiership, no resolve and commitment in trying to keep the club going, no prudent financial policy, etc. Just one piece of advice to the new owners - focus on the present and future and neither dwell or comment on the past. Lead some of our fans by the example you set. Wes for a man who harps on about letting bygones be bygones you need to start practicing what you preach as you are acting like a man who has fallen in love with their captor and clearly missing Lowe as a focus of your general bitterness and unhappiness.
  23. But without it you want even get started. Some were in a stronger position IMO to do something as positive as Jackson but didn't bother so why knock him?
  24. Fancy a game of Go, drug smuggler?
