As far as I am aware SR aren’t calling the shots, so far as there certainly isn’t any murmurs from the training ground to suggest it… Im not convinced he has the confidence of his full squad though… I always find those sorts of rumours strange anyway, it isn’t a situation that really happens outside of clubs that have a proper DoF and even then generally a ‘way of playing’ is agreed before contracts are signed I imagine this ‘influence’ is more player/Selles related but it begs the question, if Jones is such a headstrong chap why hasn’t he installed his ‘systems’ already ? He’s had long enough… it took Dyche less than a week to get the squad largely pulling in his direction Frankly… if ‘his’ system is 5 at the back long ball football then it doesn’t suit either this squad or the two wingers we signed in January… and if he isn’t comfortable coaching systems that suit our current squad then it begs the question why the fuck was he hired and why is he still here ?

You don’t get to be in a position such as his and be free of critique.. who is he to believe he is above inquisition ? There are many who have worked or studied the game that are concerned by his appointment just as much as the majority are.. to be frank… an opinion held by the vast majority tends to be, in most situations correct Regardless of that, he had the opportunity to defend his position and tactics, but has instead decided to hide away Dissapointing to be honest

I think the majority of us have legitimate questions to ask around his tactics and candour Back five, dropping Lavia for a semi final but playing 87 mins against blackpool, dropping DCC, signing 2 wingers but playing tactics that don’t support them Clearly the club are aware either that NJ doesn’t hold much faith with the fans OR they are concerned about how he’d react to any negativity… its not a good look is it Also… the blokes on a significant wedge, if he’s unable to plan for a game 5 days later because Geoff from Sholing called him a back 5 playing wanker then he’s clearly not cut out for it

Usually Id agree with the whole ‘Try to save money here, so we can spend there sentiment’ But with the club looking over its shoulder at relegation and already halfway through a very (on paper) favourable group of fixtures I can’t help but feel we’d of been better off getting the frontline recruitment sorted earlier even if it cost us extra A further 9 points has now alluded us that this mythical forward could of helped us achieve

There will be a transfer commitee so to speak and rightly so I absolutely do not want 1 man to decide how we spend our allotted budget, especially if that man may or may not be here in 6 months

Exactly this………. which is why Id pick Che over him Che is much better in the build up phase than Broja, occupies defenders better, not sure how you believe Broja is more physical either Broja has better composure.. that’s basically it really He really is, other than a purple patch a very average striker imho and I think Chelsea will regret not taking WHU’s 30m offer because he isn’t worth it

I don’t really understand the furore around Jackson, he is quite obviously an extra wide attacker and unlikely to be our striker option because if we can see he isn’t a No.9 it I seriously doubt anyone at the club has looked at his as a striking option considering his skillset

Ahh but you’re more than happy to pass comment ? I think the views are diverse enough, Steve and Glenn provide a consistent and generally spot on insight around the club and they have usually someone with good journalistic insight, I don’t see any need to change that… perhaps they could have a guest speaker but as someone that has done podcasts in the past that isn’t always a good addition and tends to cause editing issues if the guest isn’t au fait with audio recording etc As for the OPs post, I commented online that it was one of my favourite episodes.. you have to remember that it is a snapshot in time of the general feeling around the club.. an FA cup win, that in essence was scrappy and somewhat gifted did little to bouy my enthusiasm for our primary concern… relegation The panel were right to question the performances and NJs ability and Tanswell/Sheldons piece on SR and the changes was very interesting and welcomed Come the end of the season I expect all of us would welcome humble pie in tge form of an all beating NJ masterclass but again the podcast is to bring the panels opinions to bare, not to bring fake optimism… Im sure there’s plenty of happy clappy stuff you can listen to instead
