Just back from the game….. no not really, I have a 6 day old so watched it on IPTV What can I say, what a performance from front to back, part of me is glad for the telegraph (or whatever rag it was) leaking about a player rebellion because christ the reaction has been a squad that looks firmly begind Ralph Salisu/Kotchap looks like they’ve played together at this level for years.. KWP is sensational and what can I say about Romeo Lavia 😍 Tactics we’re absolutely spot on, we went 4231 again but implemented JWP in the No.10 which looked as though was primarily to stop them playing from the back to Jorginho/DLC… AA and Ely tucked in whilst we attacked to allow and overload and they tracked the chelsea WBs in defensive transition.. small changes to our usual but hugely important Diallo was integral to winning this midfield too, we all know RLs qualities but Diallo buzzed around and disrupted and made that AA goal AA/Ely worked hard and AA definitely deserved his goal on his last couple of games form Lastly… give Che the bloody contract, immense again, he just bullies and causes problems to back lines, he leads the line so so very well Just fantastic, absolutely fantastic

We were pushing for him as late as the weekend just gone and by all accounts Broja saw us as a pathway to prem minutes but looks like Chelsea have decided to offer him more gametime I think he’ll feature tonight

Seems like the ship, train, bicycle…. Whatever preference of your mode of transfer transport has sailed,departed etc etc on Broja Chelsea see him as one of the top young strikers in Europe

i think in this case Id rather listen to the Rik guy… infact he has already shut down Sky who I’m genuinely shocked are so consistently bad transfer wise considering their contacts At 25m he’d already be gone I think he moves for a fee around 40m.. however thats made up

I’m not usually a fan of writing off players before they’re given a fair crack of the whip but it took me all of about 25 minutes to realise he’d never amount to anything much at the top level He was genuinely awful and arguably the worst transfer I ever remember us making and there has been a few rough ones

I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ve had to up our budget due to the clubs around us spending freely I said before that we’re seeing the financial freedom of the Prem, compared to Europe in action here.. and the prem clubs are taking advantage snd grabbing talent whilst we can From our perspective our rivals in the lower prem are also strengthening considerably so maybe we are going for it to keep up I wouldnt want to be under Gao ownership this year… I think we’d almost certainly be for the chop

Fair enough… I wasn’t only having a pop at you tbf… and fwiw I agree.. we need to do more… but I can’t really blame SR for that, who largely have done a great job upgrading the coaching, recruitment and playing side of things and have undone a lot of the damage done by either no recruitment or crap recruitment under the previous regime

100% Id of loved Kalajdzic but I think we’re looking for a player closer to Broja… infact Im pretty sure we’ll see Broja at the end of the window but on the odd chance we don’t it’ll be more of a poacher then big guy Sasa I think would have potentially replaced Che if things were different

I don’t think we’ve done enough, but that doesn’t mean its a bad window.. if I could be arsed to go back and look at what it was we needed most of us would say a DM, CB, FB, Striker, AM… none of us expected us to get close to that… yet we’ve done it all except for a striker and FB… by all accounts this is already a good window, if we complete the rest it will be incredible All info coming out of and around the club looks like they are aiming to conclude a striker and probably also the FB we need as well as another AM and CM So why exactly are we saying SR havn’t done enough ? Where we were before SR squad wise was indicative of poor quantity and quality of recruitment, they look like they’ve immediately addressed that We apparently have around 40m for a proper striker if reports are to be believed, that is significant for us and I despite what some of thd moaners want I don’t want to just waste that on the wrong targets… because lets face it… you’ll be moaning about that next year…

Generally speaking, when it comes to PSV that guy is a pretty reliable source It feels an absolutely bonkers fee for us… but like Ive saud before here and on twitter, although we’ve been conditioned to the Gao years… this is unfamiliar territory for SR, we don’t know what their reserves are What I have been told however, is that SR are significantly worried about relegation that would paralyse their project early… they need a PL club as the headpiece of their multi club model

FWIW I’m not sure we’ve ever truly been in for Ramos, I think we probably had his name on our list and we have had representatives go to talk to him but I’m not hugely convinced we were that serious I also think it’ll cost teams less than 60m to pick him up

I’m not entirely sure what it is you’re moaning about here ? Utd have spent best part of 300m and we basically matched them/looked better yesterday

Your problem is you’re judging him off just goals, even if Adam Armstrong scored Che’s goals Saturday Id still be asking for Che to start over him this Saturday… because it was him that changed the game with his ability to harass and hold the ball up… none of our other options dk that Broja was ok, scored a few in a purple patch, FWIW I think he’ll be a decent prem forward, good feet, good eye for goal, decent 10 yard burst yeah.. but he isn’t worth 30m imo
