Just to clarify We didn't We set up as a 4222 as we have done throughout the entirety of the season, there were times in transition that we moved to a 3 back formation with the left sided midfielder becoming more of a wingback but ultimately we didn't set up in a traditional sense as a back 3. It was very much unorthodox and I don't expect us to progress with it really if we sign adequate cover at LB

I mean.... I've stated my point over and over again The biggest age groups that pose the biggest risk to community transmission are likely to be 18-50 (working age, college, university, socialising) and only 50% of those are currently protected via vaccines, even a single shot. Should we completely take the shields away BEFORE we have hit a critical point of the vaccine program we risk reintroducing the virus back into the community, where, although the risk is small, it can take hold Like we were during the time between the first and second wave, we are at a point that giving it a little more time would likely decrease the chances of needing to go back into any severe form of lockdowns for the foreseeable and whilst opening up 3 weeks early probably looks appealing to those that are currently suffering I would imagine the long term goal is to ensure they will not have to be hit by any further severe restrictions in the future
-
Of course it is... the whole situation has been awful, for a great many people But we are here now, we actually have a coherent plan that the government hasn’t fucked up yet (despite some strong attemps). As I said before, if we drop the plan now and allow the doors to fly open there is a risk the virus could take hold again.. now.. of course that risk is significant lower than it ever has been, but the point still stands So if you had the choice, do you wait 3 weeks with a strong likelihood that we have a significant shield, or take the risk of taking huge bounds backwards that would cause even more damage to those frozen out by lockdowns ?

We literally never played that this year

To reiterate, it’s probably not an overall issue with the coaching side of our academy But we likely had poor recruitment pull during our League1/Championship days and Im not sure what affect Wilson had at the time but certainly his first team recruits were... hit and miss

There’s plenty of stories out there about him unfortunately, of course, not all of these may be true so Id apologise if Ive harshly judged that aspect too soon However, ability wise Im not personally optimistic. Of course, it’s probably worth a loan first however, for the right fee it makes sense to let him go -
I meant minority, not majority apologies, its not really a hardship waiting a further 3 weeks or less
-
Either way, not worth taking a risk when we are this close to the deadline set really, especially as this is when we should hit the targets required to provide adequate protection to the majority

This is pretty much what I said the other day Our academy set up is one of the very best in the league, we have had a largely untouched coaching team and facilities with the exception of the guy at the top. But like you stated previously, 10 years ago we were in league 1... this would have had a significant impact on recruitment and we will not likely see the benefit of our premier league recruitment until probably from now onwards(ish)

Looks a promising player, from what I've read online, in a position where we need it most Lets hope this one gets over the line. “Indeed, Romain Perraud rapidly became a fan-favourite at the Stade Charlety, thanks to some Roberto Carlos-esque rockets from outside the box,” wrote Adrien Dryll in a 2019 profile of the player for GFFN. “He’s starting to become one of the leading left-backs, seen by many people, as the best left-back or one of them in France’s top division,” The Athletic’s Phil Hay said, speaking on his podcast. “It’s very clear from the performance data that he’s a very attacking left-back, who is good at creating chances, taking shots himself, a threat going forward, but also really good at employing the press, good as part of a team that likes to press aggressively. On those basic pointers, you can see why Leeds are interested.” - https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/all-you-need-to-know-about-romain-perraud-leeds-uniteds-next-left-back/

Unfortunately I have never seen anything that matches up with his tremendous ego He's quick and strong, doesn't have any particularly fantastic technical traits, is unable to look after himself off the field or follow on field instructions very well on it If someone wants to offer 10m or so, give or take, then I'd happily take the gamble that he isn't going to make it at the top level -
Steady on

Ive always found being called a 'sheep' quite confusing We are all sheep mate, just run around in different herds. My personal shepherds tend to be based in medical science and the anti Vaxx brigade find leadership in batshit conspiracy theories
-
There has always been a percentage of 'healthy' individuals that have unfortunately required treatment, as well as those that are unable to receive a vaccine that could come into contact with non symptomatic I do agree, I have always been one that has 'towed the line' with this situation but I do think, once we are passed the June 21st deadline and the vaccine rollout is at its 'critical mass' then we have effectively done everything that we can do.... passed that timescale it is difficult to justify extending lockdowns. - Threat to the NHS answered above

Of course they can, its the application that they are crap at... -
Diallo is fantastic, but he showed what youth brings, and that is inconsistency Again, I don't think we can replace Ings with 20m, I'm not convinced we can replace him with 30m either but what I do know is that without him our chances of survival are severely reduced and avoiding relegation is worth significantly more than 30m to us.... Im not trying to be pedantic or kick the can down the road... just like I say, who knows where we are in 12 months, but we are very much in a worse position relegated Prowse ? Id say he was pretty integral, he added goal contributions, is a very good DM as well as decent leadership this year

Last time I checked we didn't live in Northern Ireland, we could compare different electoral requirements around the world if you want but I wouldn't think it adds much of value There were 6 cases of electoral fraud in the last election.... 6 It will have a far bigger impact of voter suppression then it ever will on electoral fraud, but I suspect you know that anyway -
Because if your take on virology is incorrect, and we open up too early... thus creating a situation where the virus again takes hold then the dates of respite for the sectors you have mentioned being impacted will have to be put back Im not a fan of this situation, I haven't been for the full 18 months, its been awful.... Ive lost people to it, because of it and arguably it took a significant toll on my mental health due to a multitude of other issues (Im fully aware im not alone in that) but we are where we are now and I do think we are better seeing it through I cannot condone the actions of the government, and cannot help but feel if it wasn't for their negligence on a great many issues then we could have been out of this sooner and with less disruption June 21st in a realistic target, set with the intention of meeting herd immunity... should we fail after this then I'm not sure what we have left in our armoury. Let us remember its not just a case of 'opening up and abandon the vulnerable', the speed at which it takes hold poses a viable risk to the NHS, which is a much greater risk to the majority than the virus poses in isolation
-
What exactly is your point ? Sancho is both skilful and pacey, as is Rashford and Sterling Lingard doesn't have the pace of those three.... all four of who I just mentioned are black... Your comment is very odd
-
We don't know where we will be next summer, at some point the club will change hands, for better or for worse... I imagine we will see something over the next 6-9 months With that in mind I think its worth gambling on keeping both JWP and Ings, as like I said, without both we will almost certainly be relegated and with a 70m debt and an owner with no financial muscle then we will be in all kinds of trouble We won't replace Ings with 20m and the cost of relegation far outweighs that, which is why I'd comfortably let him see his contract out
-
This really Incoming funds or not, I find it very strange that some fans are considering taking the money for Ings and JWP... who, in reality, are the only reason we probably survived over the last two seasons I cannot see us replacing them adequately either TBH Which is why Im firmly in the 'resist all offers for both' camp

I think its patently obvious that the vote ID is being pushed to suppress votes to be fair -
I like Lingard, he has had a great season, but out of interest who does he replace ? He doesn't replace Mount/Grealish/Foden for me and although he is in form Rashford/Sterling/Sancho offer pace which is something different Lingard would have been one of the last of the options for me, as he is unnecessary

More than likely Seems an absolute steal at that price
