And.. that's exactly what most level headed supporters were expecting today surely? Fulham are a very good side, who should be beating a team like us quite comfortably. Some people on here have extremely short memories and expect a new manager (who hasn't officially taken duties yet) to win his first game in charge, when we've won 1 in 16 and none away. Playing shit and gaining a point is much better than playing shit and being 5-0 down at half time. It's progress.

I'm not sure what people are expecting. A 0-0 draw is a brilliant result considering what we've been served up this season. We shipped five a week ago without a whimper. To get our second clean sheet (and first away) will be massive for building confidence at the back. We can't run before we can walk. Give Ivan a few days on the training pitches and we'll start to see his influence.

Thought we should've given him the captaincy last season. He's literally the only player that we have that communicates to others throughout the game. He's a full international with 65 caps under his belt as well. Hopefully Ivan takes the captaincy from Jack. The way he acted in the Chelsea game alone is enough to strip him of it IMO.

I'd snap your hand off for a 0-0 today. First away clean sheet against a very good side and a point on the board. Massive progress compared to this time last week.

Steve Cooper would be up there on my list, but I don't think he's who we'll ultimately go for, as SR will try to be clever. From wiki: "Cooper likes his teams to play with "good organisation and structure". He prefers his teams to control the game by being brave on the ball and confident when passing. Cooper coaches his teams to have tactical discipline; defensively, he prefers his players to regain possession through composure and aggression." He's also got a lot of Championship experience, taking Swansea to the playoffs twice and also Forest, where he won promotion. He's also out of a job, so that ticks another box. Getting over 11 points and moulding this team into something that resembles competitive are the two targets until the end of the season, so we're not asking for much.

Just heard that Sport Republic have offered Russ a contract extension, to keep him at the club until 2030.
-
I still don't believe they'll sack him. I hope they do, but I really don't think they will. Sport Republic are as inept as Russell.
-
Genuinely think at this point that he wants to get sacked. This record will be hugely damaging his ego week in, week out. For that reason I say stick with him until the end of the season and make him suffer like the rest of us, then get rid of him.
-
Well one positive is we're drawing the last 23 minutes... Or not.
-
Honestly think they're club plants at this point. When 500 fans left, they had 500 plants take their seats.
-
What a fucking idiot.. club captain my arse.

Can't defend (ironic when our manager was a defender) and can't score. There's only one way we're heading. I have to say a fair chunk of the blame lies at the Sport Republic door. They overspent in our last PL season, so we couldn't invest as much in the squad this summer, when it was required. Let's be fair, I think we are the worst team on paper in the league and I don't think that any manager keeps this side up, but Russell's pure stubbornness to only have a plan A will get you undone in this league against better teams and managers.
-
Get down the wings and cross the ball onto big Paul's head. Nah, Russell would rather lose than adopt those tactics!
-
Wolves haven't kept a PL clean sheet since February, when they beat Sheff United 1-0.

33/1

Can't even keep a clean sheet against Stoke..

He's not resigning and giving up millions in compensation, however much you think he should. He seems to think his job is safe judging by the Daily Echo quote after the game. The right decision is to part ways, but it costs Dragan a lot of money when there's absolutely no guarantee a new manager could keep us up.
-
It all went downhill when he started dating Lucy Pinder. Looks like she picked the starting line up tonight as well.
-
Martin can't have much time left, especially if we lose tonight. Next up Arsenal away (loss) then Leicester at home (would be a must win game) and Man City away (loss). I think he'll be lucky to be our manager on 2nd November when Everton come to town. That being said, could another manager keep this squad up? It's definitely in the bottom three in terms of Premier League quality, but would a change in manager give us the fight to scrap out the points needed for survival? I'm not convinced.
-
It costs us many points last season, not being able to find a 2nd goal when we were on top. When I saw it was 1-0 on 85 minutes, I just knew what what going to happen. I feel we don't have the overall quality to compete in this league, we have a few Premier League quality players, but not a team full. This is going to be a long, depressing season, but I preferred the Championship anyway.

Charly has just been sent off on his Flamengo debut.. opposition player also sent off so I'm guessing it was handbags like the Lazio friendly 😂
-
I was told earlier that JWP was desperate to move back down here permanently. I understand why he left, but if he had a crystal ball, I think he would've stayed.
-
I for one hope he does. He needs a confidence building loan to the Championship, in a side where he can play week in week out. I haven't given up on him, he just needs to fine tune his decision making. He often does the hard part by beating his man and completely snatches at the shot/cross. Like Shea Charles, he's not ready for the Premier League yet.
-
He should've just stayed with us last season and helped us to promotion. He was never getting in the England team for the Euros, no matter how many freekicks he may have scored in the Premier League. Looks like the latter stages of his career will be spent bouncing round from club to club as they unearth his limitations from open play. It's a shame, it could've been so different had he stayed. But then again, we wouldn't have got to see Flynn in a Saints shirt..
-
Glad the club are standing firm, as I think he's worth £10m, just look at his goalscoring record in lesser leagues. Problem is there's very little money in Turkey outside of Galatasaray and Besiktas etc. Maybe we're hoping someone comes in late and we don't have to accept Trabzonspors measly offer. It's quite clear his days are over here so we need to maximise the return.
