Have a read through the umpteen threads on here on the subject - especially the one with the great big long list of players out of contract, some of whom could do very well for us at this level.

No I really can't imagine where that came from - FFS! Absolutely - if somebody like Jaidhi or Sodje or Holland signed by 3pm Monday it would be a complete disaster if they played on Tuesday wouldn't it? :confused:

Did you do English at school? Just to reiterate the point that you clearly missed. We were expecting a signing before the weekend (not just Mellis) - possibly a midfielder and/or a CB. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that such a signing is almost done and dusted. If this were so, then AP would have answered "maybe" or "possibly". An answer of "I don't know - sigh" is far less positive. So, despite being fully aware of the fact that things will almost definitely happening before the end of the window, I found it a tad demoralising that it sounded unlikely that we would have a new face in time for Swindon (especially as I am going). I reserve the right to be demoralised. I always am after losing...so shuddup, go away and leave me alone :mad:
