What a bizarre thing to start a thread on! Firstly, if you did have a reason to claim the footballing high ground over a Pompey fan then it certainly wouldn't be the first time in years (unless you consider 3 years to be a long time). Secondly, you have no reason to claim the high ground anyway. They are a premier league team and we are in the 3rd tier on -10 points ffs! I think if you are feeling smug then you are probably also a tad deluded.

Reality check for whom exactly? We all know its a weak team and we all know that we have lost loads of time waiting for a takeover while the other clubs got their houses in order. Anybody who doesn't realise that will have had their head up their arses for three months. So who is getting the reality check that you are kindly providing for us? We have some dark times ahead (in the immediate future) and may conceivably be stuck on minus points longer than we would like - but I for one am confident we can get to mid table safety this season so that we can make a strong push next season. Anything more than that (i.e play-offs) would be a minor miracle given where the team is at present.

Hearts game - I read that only the Itchen and Kingsland stands are open with unreserved seating, so I rang the ticket office to see what arrangements I can make because I am on crutches at the moment. It seems the reason that only two stands are open (with unreserved seating) is the fact that they have only sold just over 1000 tickets. Do you really mean a 75% deduction or do you mean a ticket at 75% of the normal cost? There is a significant difference between the two. Either way, how could they make that work? What you are asking them to do is sell a season ticket below the normal value just because you cannot make all the games. If they had a policy like that it would be a nightmare. They cannot afford to throw money away so they would have to recoup the difference by reselling the ticket for the games that you decide you cannot attend. It would be an admin disaster and completely unworkable.
