You phone up the club and buy a ticket (or somebody else buys one for you). £150+VAT for a ticket for a table with a player and £125+VAT for a table without a player.....or thereabouts. The prices next year will probably be different.

Sounds to me like you are just saying what you "want" to be true. Were you there? Did you speak to any of the players? Some of them were definitely putting over negative vibes about the possibility of this trip going ahead - FACT, not rumour amongst fans. Why would the players want to "take the p**s" about it? Maybe they are just feeling pessimistic about it because they haven't heard anything about it since the last game. Who knows.
