Big crowds yes, but not that many sellouts. Seeing a completely full stadium adds extra pressure in the same way that 32,000 at St Marys has more visual impact than 28,000.

I can understand this. I'm just saying that arriving 20 mins before kick-off as oposed to having a few beers before isn't condusive with a good atmosphere. I've been to lots of away games over the past few years where we've taken good numbers yet the majority sit there in silence.
I agree about the numbers. In our premiership days our away support at Northern games was often in the hundreds. That said I do think the quality of support has declined. More and more people seem to be using the travel club now and we all know that more coaches = less atmosphere.
