dune replied to saintscottofthenortham's topic in The Saints
Who? -
Cue the "How many Saints players names sound religious?" thread.
-
Is this really vital information?
-
Weren't you in Switzerland for the pre season tour last year, and if so how did you travel without a passport?

I went to C of E primary school and the only time religion was mentioned was at assembly and the christmas nativity.

The Spending Review (tackling the Socialists debt mountain)

I'm all for a lean public sector, but even you must admit that under Labour it became too bloated with non jobs. -
Is this the new "in" word?

The Spending Review (tackling the Socialists debt mountain)

Precisely. My company is investing heavily and recruiting again. I was listening to an economist of Radio 4 he was saying that we are on the verge of a glut of good news. Of course the Socialists won't like this, but it's my view that the cutbacks in the public sectors around the world have prepared the ground for good times in the future. -

I'm giving my opinion and over the next 3 months you'll see if im right or not. Like i've said China can't afford another recession in the west and they're already making moves... http://www.businessinsider.com/china-is-bailout-out-greece-2010-6 -
The Spending Review (tackling the Socialists debt mountain)

The thing is China needs us big time. Their Premier has already hinted that he's willing to help out Greece for the simple reason they cannot afford for them to go pop. I wouldn't worry about the PIGS. -

Watch this space over the next 3 months. We are about to witness a avalanche of good economic news from the US and Northern Europe. The ECB has already raised interest rates, and we will follow as fears recede. Happy days. -
The Spending Review (tackling the Socialists debt mountain)

It's very encouraging to see the FTSE 100 back around 6000, and over the next 3 months in particular (you heard it here first) we will see the first fruits of the fantastic reduction in global public sector spending. It's a shame that we needed the financial crisis to redress the balance between the providers (the private sector) and the drainers (the public sector) but in the long run we'll look back and think that it wasn't a bad thing. It was a conservative ideology that built Britain and thank god we are getting back to that. -

Employers' demand for new workers in the UK rose in June, with a record number of new jobs being offered in the insurance and engineering sectors, according to recruitment agency Reed.co.uk. The Reed Job Index increased four points to 125 in June, up from 121 in May, the London-based firm said in its report. It also noted a heightened demand for accountancy and legal staff, while the summer season had bolstered demand for leisure and tourism staff. However, the report showed that salaries for the new jobs remained constant, at 98, for the second consecutive month. In a separate report, the CBI/PricewaterhouseCoopers financial services survey showed that the financial services sector continued to recovery over the past three months to June, at a slower volume growth, but the fastest since the onset of the economic crisis in 2007. "What is heartening is the unexpected, strong rise in numbers employed in the sector, the fastest since the financial crisis began in 2007," CBI's chief economic adviser Ian McCafferty said. http://investments.hsbc.co.uk/news/economic/4335556/uk-records-strong-demand-for-new-workers-in-june I have very high hopes for the next few months and I predict that we're going to see a mushrooming of encouraging news from around the globe. The hard times are over. -
Big shock there. Slimey career politicians like Balls and his ratbag wife have no convictions. Luckily most people can see them for what they are.

Monarch this month scrapped the 3.5% charge it had applied on debit card payments. Chief executive Conrad Clifford said there was no justification for such charges. This is the only budget airline I use (the imperial royal connotation may be a slight factor here...). I have always found the service to be good and the booking extras transparent. However I was recently left extremely unhappy when I received an email in respect of my pre booked meals. Please note, due to a change in company policy we regret to inform you that as you have pre-booked a meal for your flight with Monarch (with a flight number pre-fixed with ZB), we can no longer provide a complimentary tea or coffee. This change applies indefinitely for flights from Friday 1st July 2011. The Monarch team I then sent a strongly worded email to Monarch demanding reimbursement for the meal and told them that their behaviour was what one would expect from a gutter airline such as Ryanair, and not from an airline with royal connections. The next day I got this back. You will have received an email from us yesterday regarding a pre-booked meal on your forthcoming Monarch flight. Firstly, we must apologise for the content of the email. This was sent in error and the information it contained was inaccurate. From 01 July, we have launched an exciting new onboard menu which includes an enhanced meal selection with improved taste and quality. The approach to our food has moved away from traditional airline catering and now reflects a coffee shop/high street style of catering, with menu options appropriate to the departure time of your flight. Complimentary tea and coffee will continue to be served with your pre-booked meal and we hope that you enjoy our new style of onboard catering. Once again, please accept our apologies for the error in our previous email and we look forward to welcoming you onboard soon. Kevin George, Managing Director

Good. The NOWT was a brilliant paper for sport (as is the sun). Most people would be lost without a replacement.

I'm reliably informed that club employess used to drive to work and park in the car park for free. What is the world coming to?
-
Good for him. It's an insult and it's not the amount - it's the principle.
-
I moaned for a good 12 months after Lowe charged £1 to park for the Portsmouth away game. It's a disgrace how you're charged to park when visiting the club on a non matchday. Fair enough impose a time limit of 30 mins to 1 hour if some people are taking advantage, but to make it 15 minutes is a p/ss take. Hardly surprising though from Mr ticket tax.

If his christian name was Mathew would he shrink to be just over 6' 2"?
-
Eventually I think he will as both his and the clubs profile is raised, BUT we're never going to be able to compete with London, Birmingham or North West clubs because basically Southampton is a sleepy backwater. That will not change.

If left wingers didn't think this I would not be happy.

I wouldn't give a penny to charity, but instead i'd quite like to set up an efficent comercial farm in Africa and provide employment through it. This is the sustainable answer to poverty.
