When you've got odious creatures like Tom Watson sponging on his expenses the left can hardly take the moral high ground now can they?
-
We must all remember why we are in this mess...

You're not very bright are you.

They are just as bad as the benefits slobs. I'm all for the government trying to tackle the bone idle spongers (often 2nd and 3rd generation slob families) who make a career out of sitting on their fat arses milking the system. I think most people agree with me.

A catapult is just as effective and great fun too.

Please ignore jilsaint as she doesn't know what she's on about. A bad lawn can be salvaged. Give it a treatment of quality weed amd feed, then maybe another treatment a month later and do not mow it short. The rule of thumb is that the grass length is the same as the root length - if it's cut too short and there's a dry spell the lawn will suffer and this leads to bare patches amd this leads to weeds and fairy rings. Regular mowing at a medium length and regular weeding ad feeding (granular is best) and it is easy. If you have moss you will need to scarify it ad it'll look a right mess this year, but next year it'll recover and will look good.

Our armed forces despite cuts are still far superior to Spain and Argentina.

Indeed and we should defend them with everything we have got.

Our Future? Stadium Expansion Proposal on Season Ticket DVD
dune replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
The thing is the more we sell out, the scarcer tickets become for less glamourous games as people think they are missing out. Saints are different to many clubs with a similar sized fan base because of the geography. People in Hampshire are better off than in most parts of the country and more can afford to go. Villa and Everton may well have a bigger fan base, but we most certainly have a higher proportion that can actually afford it and thus our support base isn't actually too different nowadays. -
Or maybe i'm one of the few people on here that speaks sense.

I'd be lost (literally) without one when driving in large cities on the continent.

Surely the ticket tax, the matchday premium and the parking levy are all budget airline inspired swindles... -

This is a thought provoking read http://www.rawstory.com/exclusives/steinberg/world_war_III_063005.htm

Napoleon spoke the wisest words in all this (as did David Niven in 55 days at Peking - ones favourite film..): "Let China sleep for when she awakes the world will tremble" We allowed China to awaken and the only way the west will once again rise is to put China back into its slumber. In the future there will be war. Our very survival dictates it must be so.

The saudis have been extracting at the highest rate for 30 years. They can soon turn the tap off.

Sounds like it from his description.

I had a red kite fly over my garden the other day. Massive wing span, and it caused all the other birds to **** themselves, apart from a jack daw that chased it.

I see Brent Crude is down another 3.5% today, at just under $90. This is the lowest it has been for 18 months. Let's see how long it is before this is passed on at the pumps. We should be paying 120p a litre for diesel based on the relation between brent crude/pump prices 18 months ago. They put the f/cking price up quick enough FFS.

The thing about prison is you either see it as a punishment/deterrent, or a rehabilitationary exercise. Or a bit of both. In this poor lads case it's all about punishment/deterrent.

Can't we have a poll. Justice, or a travesty?
-
An absolute disgrace. One would expect this sort of "justice" in a police state, not here.

How utterly hideous. Countryside ruined to pander to a few bonkers tree huggers.

The UN report i'm reading says exactly what Lord Monckton said. It's really really interesting. You need to try a bit harder and find it.
