  1. I don't think it's the Clot.
  2. Is it just me or do you think that characters are becoming fewer with each new generation? Lots of todays youths have been born into such a sterile, poltically correct, and pampered world that when they get into the real world they haven't got a clue how to react to p1sstaking and banter and really show themselves up. Turkish touched on this subject the other day and he's spot on, our nation still has it's place at the top of the tree when it comes to humour, but we are in decline.
  3. I know a lot of you are not happy, but at the end of the day it's better for us being out of that cup. I'm not at all happy about certains things at our club though although the irony is that the straw that has broken the camels back with most on here is a decision i agree with.
  4. I'd expect a new man in tomorrow because it ****ing obvious that Pardew has been a dead man walking for months so someone else should surely have been found before AP was sacked. But i have a concern. What would it say about a manager as a person if he'd agreed to take a job once the incumbant had been removed? I know this happens all the time in businesses, but doesn't it go against a managerial code when it's football managers?
  5. I have 50/50 view of how this thread will go, but just a change can I ask that whatever your view and the views of others you simply put your view on the situation accross and don't turn this into a Sog v Alps match for example. I hope you two don't take offence at this example as you both remain civil with each other by and large so you're both not a problem and the way old Bern reels Alps in time after time and Alps always thinks he's the champion is amusing. Ha Ha - these forums really are utter utter drivel, but that's why we all love them. Cast you mind back over the Rupert Lowe years and there were four distinct periods. 1. When he first came and certain individuals lined their pockets with a reverse takeover and Lowe got his grubby mits on the chairmanship for almost nothing. This was a period of danger for Lowe because he wasn't completely in control with a lot of hardline and middle ground fans (better to call them customers) not happy and this lobby had some power to dethrone him. They may have stayed away and put a financial strain on the clubs finances, they may have campaigned and given people in a position to influence who the chairman was a dilema. This was a delicate period for Lowe, but he was always looking pretty. 2. Then there was moving from the Dell and selling out 32,000 seats most week, and moderately sucessful league finnished culminating in a cup final and a European place. Lowe was walking on water at this time and despite there being a few people against him he was safe as houses. 3 But by then Lowe had become complacent and the wacky revolutionary ideas of his was the new way football was going to head in, and he was going to show everyone else how Rupert the invincible knew more than any other chairman. His first mistake was the war of words with Spurs. Like Nigel Farage delivering a key note speech he loved the atttention and loved the way his words were roundly supported by Saints fans. He burnt the bridge that may have meant Hoddle could have been less hated and for the first time he didn't get his own way. This caused him to deeply resent those who blocked him and made him determined to reassert his authority over his club (because that is how he saw us) and see to it that the manager that he didn't want was gone asap. And so began the sharp downward curve of the clubs fortunes and therefore Lowes decline which culminated in relegation, a hostile campaign by a lot of fans (including those key middle ground fans) and ultimately Lowe being ousted. 4. The fourth and final period is not really worth mentioning as Lowe was utterly powerless and was a proverbial dead man walking. So as you see there was a pattern that correlated between the clubs fortunes and Lowe's popularity and it's the same for Cortese because like with Lowe he isn't the daddy. Cortese's popularity curve started on a high and despite various decisions (that Rupert Lowe would have crucified for) he has ridden on the wave of Markus's money and fear from some fans of questionong NC because they basically worry that if there is any criticism Cortese may leave and take the Liebherr family with him. However I have noticed a discernable shift this week with the sacking of Alan Pardew and Cortese is now starting to be criticised by those he must take seriously and fear - the middle ground. He is now in a very dangerous position and because of that he is somewhat constrained on what he'd like to do and say - in essence his not as powerful today as he was a few weeks back. Nicola is now in trouble because he has exhibbitted poor jusgement once too often and people are now starting to judge him on what they've witnessed from him, and not just the fact he came with the money. Nicola is at a crossroads right now, it is a similar crossroad to the one Rupert stood at after firing Paul Sturrock and it is by no means certain that Cortese will take the right turn or whether the similarities between him and Lowe will continue. But what is most shocking of all is how quickly Cortese has reached the point it took Lowe about 8 years to reach. It is such a shame that events are transpiring to be oh so similar to how it was with Lowe because when NC first arrived the things he said and did pointed to him having looked at our recet history and learning the lessons. I am now of the view that he learnt nothing.
  6. I hate the muppet show, nah actually i don't. I used to hate it when it was full of teeny geeks and their ribtickling humour, but now this place isn't too bad with a few more normal posters. Deppo is an exception of course.
  7. I'm not back from game so apologies for posting here, but I can't see a match reaction thread. I'm not going to slag off Cortese for this result because a) I'm glad we're put of this cup, and b) I think he made the belatedly correct decion, although that asertion only stops being what I think and becomes what i'll judge as ultimately good or bad with the unveiling of the new manager. I will have an initial view on the appointment and if i'm concerned by it I will say and will once again be the target fpr abuse until such time as I become a smart arse when i'm proved right (winky smiley face thing), but I digress - tonights result does not matter one iota and if i was manager (or acting manager or if i was the chief Clot) i'd have a quiet word and get some trusted senior players to throw the game. I'm not saying this is what happened and I cannot be arsed to answer any smart arse comment from a forum teeny boppy who on;y really wants to ridicule this, but i would be neither surprised or disapointed if it had happened. Let's see how we do in the next important league game and if there is a marked improvement we can wonder...
  8. We will now see just how smart Cortese is because he has made a catalogue of mistake (and i'm not going to list them when some geek asks) and he now in danger of losing a chunk of the middle ground supporters. If he is wise he'll read the situation and appreciate that the middle ground of fans are key to how the Liebherr family will think. Despite the incorrect assertions of some who say Cortese is smart - he most certainly is not or he wouldn't be in the position he is now with his status as chairman being far less secure than it was a month ago.
  9. ESB I have never ever wanted to be your enemy. That is why i was genuine when i tried to find you some cup final tickets.
  10. No. You. Are. Not. You are bright and fun and the sort of geezer i'd like to have a manly pint with. You are also young and enthusiastic and you need to focus yourself because you have real potential to emulate Delldays and DSM and become a submariner which takes a special kind of person it does. I'm no expert and before joining this site would have gone for raf fighter pilot being the job for the smart alpha male types lads (which is what you are) but it's no coincidence that two of the funniest and sound and not all boring guys and smart guys - very smart indeed - on here are submariners so i'm gonna stick my neck out and say i think you have got what it takes to be just like them.
  11. Ha Ha, it's Jacko is it? What a strange choice of avatar. Romsey Stu did say Garry Glitter lived in the area. Deppo, please confirm you are not that man.
  12. Modern Matron would you like me comment of your thread. I know you are a smart guy and i'll never be that, but can I have a little say and needless to say have you make me look silly with your intelllect and wit.
  13. I'm sorry if you don't tak phobias seriously. You are entitled to your view but thinik about the little boy in Deppos avatar and how Daves comments would make him feel,
  14. Mate i'd get on with anyone, but didn't join because i felt you lot are the sort who'll bait me into being honest about what i thinik and they going running to the mods. Maybe not you as despite our difference we've known each other in this cyber world for ages so i'd be surprised if you'd do that, but there are certain others (other in particular - definition a person who can't sleep, sounds like wypobondmeak) that i really have not time for at all.
  15. Alps cheer me up mate, you always do, wish this site had more posters like you that come out with utter **** but don't get sarky and lairy.
  16. That little boy in your avatar. How would he feel? oh my god, just had a thought, is it you?
  17. You do realise what you've just done? You do realise i'm gonna stalk you with PM's now. Right, do something for me, show me your stuff and talk about spoons so i can guage your expertise and whether i will be yoda and you'll be luke or vice versa.
  18. I remeber going to rave once, well not quite a rave - it was the power fm do in the common, but i was buzzin, and on the way back we all walked down the street and sung always look on the bright side of life. Let that be a lesson to you from me.
  19. Cheers mate.
  20. Dont. You. Dare. You have no magic mod powers anyway so you're a nobody.
  21. My thoughts exactly. I do hope you are not happy because of the racialism and not because i'm mentioning it. Dave Merrington is like Cortese except Merrington is English and ginger (which is well cool and Robsk should not be ashamed or reclusive he should wear a pink t-shirt and think **** it - only ****s do colour co-ordination) and a nice guy (or not maybe if he meant what he said)
  22. This a multi thread. We have never seen it before, but reserve your judgement and then say how good it is. The top of the board of full of Dell (soz meant Dull) stickies and I have two thread i would like to post, but if i posted two threads the result would be two threads and we have enough threads as it is. At the end of the Saints games i was munching my lip and miding my own business in my own litttle bubble of innocence and was thinking to myself - i love that geordia way of talking and that is i die and go to heaven and then return to earth i'd like to be just like Dave. And then it happened, and it did happen, and i went into a vapour of the fits, i went cold and i felt all unhappy because it was not a nice thing to say, in fact it was a horrible thing to say. And he said. He said it of our squad - our own players (not that it would be any different if he'd said it about c9ontestants on countdown or in some other random situation like when walking around a car boot sale of cueing up at a cash point machine or even while you were walking your dog by a river that was flooded (naturally the dog was on the leed because if the dog went in you'd think oh no, i love that dog and he's not going to die, so you'd jump in (and do something daft liike leave your trainers on and you get out to the middle and there'd be an undercurrent and that is a major killer on the river trent, i'm not sure if it's the same on the itchen - i would like to know so please let me know and back to the story and you're in the river and the current is pulling harder under than on the top and it pulls you under and you drown and you die and you are dead and the dog survives and that is cool and if you're in heaven your happy because you love your dog, but you are still dead so in hindsight jumping in was a mistake and Dave made an even worse mistake, or maybe it wasn'y a mistake but him revealing the sort of nasty person he is, because he was depressed with everything and started speaking but didn't realise words were coming out because he was grieving so lets not be too harsh, but equally lets not say nothing becvause to say nothing means nothing. Dave's words: "They are all black and white and it's not good enough" Dave Dave Dave. Hope not Hate. Love not Frigidity. Happy not the opposite of joy and joy is a word called alps. Now i'm totally and utterly and completely utterly gutted by this Dave. You are not big Ron, you are big Dave and i myself can take a joke as i am a moderate left wing far right cosmoplitan kind of guy, but you went too far - way way way too far. Hang your head in shame and beg forgiveness and I will forgive you and so will everyone else, buy you must be sincerre and if necessary seek help - i offer you this help - don't pass this offer by because the board is black and the chalk is white and without the chalk you wouldn't be able write on a blackboard and without a blackboard there would be nowhere to use the chalk, so as you see the world belongs to you and me, me and you, everyone. Remember that Dave and let's never ever see a repeat. Topic 2. Ha Ha Ha, This is just typical Saints.
  23. OMFking god, did you hear dave merrington. i never ever thought he was a racist but he is another big ron. what a ****. **** you dave. hope not hate.
  24. I mention this because last week one your not so good mods cough *StLandrew* made a silly mistake in the lounge. I did not report this mistake because I am using DSM as the bench mark of perfectity, and i thought to myself that we are humans and as much as we strive to becomes comunity pillars and columns, only a few ever achieve this so I thought to myself if i report st landrew it would make me an utter utter **** and it would also embarrass dsm because it would put him in the difficult position of punishing st landrew and dsm isn't the kind of guy that would enjoy doing that - and this is the truth and it is my opion but **** it, i'm gonna say here and now this is not up for discussion. At all. By anyone. Soz DSM but i gotta say it how it is and if the lesser mortals don't see you as God and Boj as Jesus and Steve Grant as the baby in the rushes that herod never found (mmm maybe that was jesus too) but who knows if jesus didn't have twin and i think he did - not had a twin as in he had a twin that woulda been hard cos jesus was virgin, or maybe that was mary, but adam and eves and gods son jesus was brother to a brother if you understand. Now while this site was down, and this is not a dig at Boj who is cool cos he reveresed my last ban and severelly bollocked the person who banned me. **** knows who this was but i know it wouldn't have been dsm cos he's a well cool guy, lets start again... now while the site was down i had an idea. I thought to myself i'll write my saints match thread posts and then paste them up when the site worked again so this is what i went to do and that is why this is Saints related. But i couldn't find the word thing so accessed my spoon collection file and got sidetracked and as we're rubbish anywat and alps is gonna be on overdrie cheering us all up, but cos he's on his own will struggle to spread the joy, thought i'd write this, so here are my match thread comments# SILVER TODDY LADLE Bought: - 10/02/2009 Price: - £100.50 Description: - Georgian silver toddy ladle, in the old English pattern, with engraved terminal depicting a rampant Lion Assay City: - London Date: - 1782 Maker: - Benjamin Montague (Huguenot silversmith) Measurements: - 17.5 cm long, 5 cm bowl diameter Weight: - 51 gram Condition: - Good condition, no damage or repair, with clearly struck (un rubbed) hallmarks Thought I’d leave that in for authenticity because I’m typing this on my silver collection file because I don’t know where I put the thing you use to type on, but found this and anyway it shows you how not to collect silver cos that was a ****ing rip off, although now I am **** at valuing silver (no I’m not being modesr because if I was modest it’s be a lie - I really am **** hot on this subject and if anyone wants any silver valuing or researching I’m a sad **** and have time on my hands and I’m also a nice guy that likes to help others so pm me and I’ll assertain the details and provide you with a free valuation - an accurate one and I’ll also bore you with even more **** about the date and the maker and the style and rhe scarcity and other studd that I think off. I have 3 books too so I can look at those aswell so you are in the hands of a novice ex[ert who has his finger on the current pulse. I realise this thread is gonna be busy (ha ha) so please be patient, but I’ll endeavor to get back to you within an hour, unless I’m not her in which case I won’t have read your post. Time for cigarette now so any requests made in the next 5 mins please be patient.
  25. You are right, as ever. There are two posters who i make special effort to read and i know you're gonna feel embarrassed bout this, but sod it you shouldn't - you are one of them, and the other one is John Smith. far too many posters on here are as interesting a dead shrew, but you two are not like that at all, your both well funny and chatty and a bit like the germans (who i've met have a brill sense of humour - rea; hilarious guys cos they larf at themselves and joke bout the war - **** me they make us english look like riggt dickheads and when i was last on holiday someone put a union flag towell on a sunbed and d'ya know what oi thought - thought modern matron (yep i actually thought of you) would never do that. You are one diamond geezer and i wanna be your pal.
