He took personal charge of the JPT ticket selling arrangements (according to the girl I spoke to at the TO at the time) which I would have thought would have been David Lukers job.
-
I don't doubt he was sucessful in the past, but running a football club that is in the media spotlight is a different kettle of fish. All decisions have to be thought through more thoroughly and are not black and white. Cortese doesn't seem like he's able to adapt to this role.
-
In that case I can only assume the advice they are giving is bad or Cortese is ignoring their adive.
-
They were constrained by a lack of finance, but they spent years working at the club so will undoubtedly have a lot to offer. If we'd had a board structure they would have advised Cortese on the error of banning the echo and the press photographers for example. Mistakes should not be made and Cortese is making mistakes on a regular basis now. He clearly needs help.
-
The problem is that the negativity Cortese's actions have induced can and will affect the club on the pitch. The media are going to be gunning for us and once the British press get their teeth into something they won't let it drop. From now on in it's going to be a steady stream of anti SFC stories and you'd be a fool to think this won't filter through the club.

If Cortese walks away you assume that Markus will walk away. Is this why Cortese can do no wrong in some fans eyes?
-
I'm trying to be constructive because Markus Liebherr has spent a lot of money and Nicola Cortese is not doing a very good job on the face of it. Wouldn't it be a good idea to bring in some of the old board members to give him some advice as they have experience?
-
It's all very well Mr Liebherr wanting to be a completely hands off owner, but surely there has to come a point when Nicola Cortese has to be reigned in. In the latest PR gaffe he has opened pandoras box by picking a fight with the press and the negative publicity which will follow is not good news for the club. This latest gaffe comes on the back of Nicola annoying fans with the removal of the installment plan and his introduction of a £3 booking tax on tickets. Not to mention his scathing attack on Matt Le Tissier. So come on Markus, either get involved in the running of the club or get a wise head in to give the inexperienced Cortese some advice on where he is going wrong.
-
There's only one spoilt kid in all of this to be fair. Cortese has gone looking for a fight and he's picked on boys that are bigger than him.
-
Ha Ha Ha, Cortese is going to end up with egg on his face. Just what he deserves.
-
NC strikes me as the type of person who won't change his mind so his stance on photography will limit the club when it comes to sponsorship next season and therefore contrary to making the club money it will cost the club money. The press are not going to back down to some little noddy club which is what we are.
-
Cortese is a liability and an embarrassment. I hope Mr Liebherr realises this.
-
Pardew is on borrowed time imo. I think he'll be gone by the end of August, the end of September at the latest.
-
I think AP will be gone before August is out. When does the transfer window close?

I bet we have a sponsor next season when Cortese brings out a new shirt. -

If your read the article dulldays you'll see that Celtic tried doing what Cortese has done and the press didn't buy the images so they are not going to cave in to a jumped up upstart like Cortese. All his decision has achieved is to make enemies and making enemies of the English press pack isn't a clever thing to do. I predict he will rue the day he took them on. -

Good on Plymouth for running this story. Cortese is becoming an embarrassment. -

If If If, looking at our preseason and yesterdays performance we are going backwards. Cortese has ****ed of the press, has ****ed of st holders that wanted the installment plan, and has ramped up ticket prices with his add ons. If we are not winning games then fans won't turn up and a contributory factor in this will be Nicola Cortese. -
You better get the tin hat ready then because if we play as badly again we will lose.

As Margaret Thatcher said "The press is like Pandoras box and once you've opened the lid you can't shut it". Cortese is a fool and is bad for SFC imo. -

I would suggest Nicola put's a sign on his office wall "Make sure your brain is engaged before putting your mouth into gear". He's worse than Rupert Lowe and shows no sign of learning from his mistakes. -
This is what I have heard, but I wouldn't like to speculate as to why the old contractors walked away.
