Its not a case of being "worried" if we don't strengthen further, just "disappointed". Given the money that should be available to us, the prospect of European football, top 6 finish last year, no reason why we can't expect to bring in some genuinely decent quality. There's no reason why that would stop genuinely talented youth players progressing into the first team squad. At the moment, we're going into the key part of pre season with a weaker squad than we finished last season, how many other Premier League teams can say that?

Is Redmond definitely the Mane replacement? I didn't know that. If that is the case, it leaves us weaker than we were at the end of last season, that is disappointing considering the resources at our disposal. We don't have two "top quality options" in every position, that's quite a bizarre claim.

I don't know anyone that thinks our squad is "barely adequate", just that given the circumstances and budgets we have available and the players we have lost, we should be able to recruit a very good standard of player this pre-season. Can't judge either way until a few months into the season though.

I'm not sure what point you think you are arguing against. I don't think anyone has suggested the whole ground becomes standing room only. At least 1/4 of St Marys stands all game, and our away support stands all game, every game pretty much. If anything, those keen to sit and have a good view should be the one's campaigning for safe standing more than anyone - it would make it more likely for the seats to actually be used for sitting down.
