Aren't we supposed to be playing Brentford in a behind closed friendly at some point too?
-
Stephens is suffering from incompetence....not sure that's really an injury
-
you'd have thought he would have at least watched the video himself before posting it all over the internet trying to get a move. some of the skills involved are by a certain Nathan Redmond instead of Lemina dopey sod!
-
Only a year late....must be a new record for him
-
not convinced he's a PL left-back, far too slow and literally the least intelligent footballer I've ever met (and that takes some doing). Was at the end of the road at Saints and needed a break, good luck to him, still think we've got the better end of this deal by some way.

Looks promising, but then so did Mayuka/Carillo/MOI etc. Hopefully this means MOI is out of the picture and good to see us getting business done early. Anyone looked him up on FIFA/Football Manager yet?

Sorry if not allowed on here but possibly looking for a Newcastle away ticket as a mate has changed his mind and now wants to come (don't ask...) Let me know if anyone hears anything.

I think 5 points will be enough for us to stay up, 3 of which we'll get on the last day, meaning we need 2 points from 6 games...should be doable!

My hands have now defrosted so a few more comments. A lot of these players this was my first time seeing them play so judging them on today only. We started appallingly, 2-0 inside 4 minutes to two shocking goals, the second especially was poor, a deep cross from the left and their striker left completely unmarked to tap home from 5 yards. As said earlier, the keeper looked abysmal as did all 3 centre backs (Bradley-Green, Klarer and Kpohomouh). The right back wasalso really poor but I understand he’s only 16 and playing up a level. Vokins is heard of as being touted as the next big thing, he doesn’t have it defensively based upon today. Looks comfortable on the ball and very much in the Shaw mould but not for me. We lacked any form of leadership in the side and just sat back at 4-3 up and invited pressure which was obvious we couldn’t hold out. Tyreke Johnson took his goal well but did nothing else, same with Tella who had a few decent touches but otherwise anonymous. Ferry looks the best of the lot, seems to have something about him from an attacking point of view. Not sure he has it to make the first team, but he’ll get a decent career out of the game, as long as he stays away from penalties! Overall, really disappointing show tonight, but well done again to Basingstoke who wanted it more.

Lost on pens. Fair play to basingstoke who wanted it more. Only player who looked half decent was Ferry who then missed and abysmal penalty. Vokins looks ok going forward, but defensively him and the rest of back 5 and Keeper were appalling. Shouldn’t lose from being 4-3 up against 10 men with 11 mins to go but that’s football
-
FT 4-4 off to pens...
-
4-4 more abysmal defending from a corner. No way we look like a side with an extra player.
-
4-3 Saints. Johnson nice turn on edge of box and decent finish
-
3-3. More shoddy defending. No closing the player down and deflected past the keeper
-
Winner plays Havant & Waterlooville @ Eastleigh
-
Sam Argent (remember him?) now playing up front for Basingstoke. Just headed a great chance over the stand...
-
Saints breakaway and Tella hit the bar from a Johnson cross.
-
From what I can work out the saints team is as follows: Cull (GK) Vokins Klarer Bradley-Green Agbontohoma Olufunwa O’Connor Smallbone Ferry Tella Johnson 3-2 saints now, Ferry with a tidy finish. Best saints player by a mile
-
Scored by Smallbone. 2-2
-
Pen to Saints. Stoke red card deliberate handball
-
2-1. Smallbone. Finally look to have woken up
-
4 minutes gone...
-
2-0 down. Defending like first team under Hughes
-
1-0 down. Failed to clear a corner
-
Fairly strong Saints team. No confirmation but Tyreke Johnson, Jake Vokins playing. Basingstoke missed a sitter from 4 yards
