  1. they've just discussed it on SSN, they mentioned there was a rumour that Chainrai was gonna buy the stadium off the club for £15 million, then lease it back to them at the cost of £1 million a year for the next 15 years
  2. True, but the problem for the PL is whilst they will do anything and everything to protect their image, Pompey's troubles are so deep that a lot of the avenues of assistance the PL might consider, would result in a serious backlash from other clubs and/or open up a minefield of legal repercussions. IMO it's gonna get to a point where even the PL realise that if they do everything they can to keep Pompey afloat, it'll be counter productive for their intention to protect their brand.
  3. I can't help thinking it came straight from the lips of Storrie though. This may be a silly question, but even if Pompey were taken over could they still be wound up on March 1st due to operating whilst insolvent? Or does the winding up order only apply to the unpaid tax bill to HMRC?
  4. Portsmouth News reporting their gonna be taken over by a South African consortium at the weekend Didn't see any mention of Riquelme though
  5. I think something similar has also happened to FC Moscow in the Russian premier League. I never thought I'd be wholeheartedly supporting HMRC's actions in anything but there you go
  6. Brian Laws and "a number of PL managers" are against the idea http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11708_5959361,00.html
  7. How much do the PL clubs receive from Sky?
  8. But this is something that storrie appears to be deluding himself from. He's gone on record believing the club can still stay up, and it has puzzled many people as to why they haven't gone into administration already
  9. which could well be the telling factor that stops this request
  10. Even if FIFA say yes this has to be agreed by the PL, does anyone know how many clubs it takes to push through a 'no' vote. Is it 5 or 6? The BBC sports editor reckons the PL board could turn it down even if FIFA agree
  11. Yep it's on the ticker however I can't see many teams being interested in buying players they can't register until August, even at a knock down price if they've gotta pay their wages
  12. I think if FIFA allowed this, it would open up quite a few cans of worms
  13. I believe what phil was trying to point was that we actually blamed the people responsible, and not a media conspiracy or the PL which some of your fans are The PL are one of the most corrupt, sleazy organisations there are out there, they are now trying to break their own rules to bail you out. How much were the PL involved when Storrie and Redknapp were first appointed in their respective jobs? It was Storrie who wrecked your club, he was the one overseeing the reckless overspending and dodgy dealing Redknapp did to bring players in you could never afford. He was the one who opened the door to all these Crooks from the Middle East. He was also the one who provided the PL with a lot of the information about the current lot that they based their decisions on. . . . As for trying to sell your players in the January transfer window, sorry who was it who denied any reports of a fire sale? Blaming the PL for your current demise is like blaming the stableboy for not closing the door quickly enough - ignoring the fact the horse had long since bolted
  14. Doubt it, the High Court would never back down to mere speculation in a case like this in a million years. and pompey know it, although then again. . . . . .
  15. I cannot see any reason why. The high court judge is reviewing the report, and that report only and will make a final decision based on (in theory) the full extent of their financial situation as it stands now.
  16. TBH those two sentences often go hand in hand
  17. Surely one of FIFA's first questions will be "Why didn't they take advantage of that window that was available less than 3 weeks ago"
  18. That is likely to be a case of Hull being forced to sell Carroll for a knock down price to Wigan who couldn't actually register him. Carroll at that time was one of the most promising young goalkeepers around and so it made sense to sign him as a future prospect. The only way Pompey could get rid of any of their current squad is if they sold them at a ridiculously low price, if other clubs weren't allowed to register them to play this season
  19. don't know, the Russian season begins next month so possibly
  20. some of the boards are way too harsh. Due to illness and having too much time on my hands I decided to manage Andorra. In my first 8 games of the Euro 2012 qualifiers, I'd beaten Iceland and Estonia and held England to a 0-0 draw, had a couple of narrow defeats to Czech Republic and Belgium and still got sacked.
  21. What is a CVA?
  22. I suppose it's inevitable, after telling them to stop winding me up I point out I'm not gonna be the only one wound up this week
  23. An arrest warrant has been issued for Al Fahim says the beeb and SSN
  24. The BBC article also says they owe £7.4 million. Wasn't £7.4 million Pompey's figure, wasn't the true figure over 11 million?
  25. But an AFC Pompey would have no right to claim them as they wouldn't be owned or earned by AFC Pompey! They'd be forever in the hands of the club that won them, the club that went bankrupt! You'd have as much chance trying to claim Man U's 1999 Champions League as AFC Pompey's, an AFC Pompey and Portsmouth football club are two different entities
