  1. Shame, the skates were getting quite a pounding on there but a number of posts have been removed. The locals must be scratching their heads and wondering what the fook is going on
  2. It is and you deserve a lot of credit for it. Just a shame the Echo doesn't appear to have seen past their petty differences with Cortese enough to give it the coverage it deserved so more people could have been made more aware.
  3. Nah, reckon he did mean "scrap", we are talking pikeys after all. And congratulations in starting page 800 - just 50 to go to break the 40,000 barrier
  4. Even worse, it was "£125" that was talked about!!!
  5. You've got to be joking? I wouldn't call us a 'big' club if we were in the Prem but we would be a decent 'middle' size with potential to grow. But in the Championship the only clubs I'd say were 'bigger' are Leeds and West Ham. The likes of Derby, Forest, Leicester, Brum and ourselves are big clubs at this level and with a reasonable season we'll get better gates than all of those bar maybe Derby - and as our tickets cost a fair bit more we'll be generating more income to prop up our already healthy finances.
  6. For population it was possibly Hull City up until recent years. But with the massive catchment area of England's 'second city' (shared with Villa) Birmingham City should probably do far better and if Bristol had one 'big' team it could have been challenging more.
  7. Big incentive now to get the flag ready for the Markus Liebherr Memorial Tournament - a very appropriate time for an unveiling.
  8. "The name's Bond, Basildon Bond"
  9. I fall into the Cortese 'fan' group but I really feel they've f**ked up here (again) and certainly not coming across as 'fan friendly' with regards to season tickets. I also fall into the group that thinks they may not see them as a priority (wrongly imo). A season ticket for many fans is their prized attachment to their football club and some way of showing committment and loyalty. I can see no reason why the club couldn't have just realised an early statement (particularly last year with the sudden change of procedure) and simply say STs will be available from this-or-that date. Not hard but by once again saying nothing just looks like a show of little respect to a big chunk of their 'customers'. Maybe Cortese has some revolutionary idea with ticketing but communication would be a good thing and any big change to tradition in this country may take some getting use to.
  10. Don't forget, Jamie Redknapp was born and bought up about 20 miles from Southampton, he may well have had mates who were Saints fans and may have had a soft spot for us. He's certainly never slagged us off and I believe he was committed while at SMS. Whether his dad was...........? I do remember him saying the noise inside St Mary's for (I believe) the Norwich match was as loud as at any game he'd ever played in. No axe to grind with him as far as I'm concerned.
  11. Someone once said: "Respect everyone, fear no-one" True.
  12. If we say the average donation so far is a tenner, that's just 300 people who've put towards the flag. There's a lot more out there that need it bought to their attention, encouraging the Echo to feature the campaign would be a positive move.
  13. I think we can finally rule out Maradona in any capacity - strangely it seems Corpy Ho-ho-ho was wrong on that one - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13413485.stm - must be Riquelme then?
  14. Nice one - might go for that. Dixons currently selling it for around £150 and comes with extra large ink cartridges and 5-year warranty. Cheers.
  15. Cheers Jonnyboy, another to consider.
  16. Sounds good. Hope he hasn't miffed Mr C by talking to the press before the club have announced it. Everything is moving up a notch, I guess we should expect ticket prices will also reflect this - not complaining, just getting prepared. Good times ahead.
  17. And Norwich. They lasted just one season after they went up in 2004 and shared two relegations with us soon after. Will be interesting to keep an eye on them this year.
  18. Cheers fellas. Having had a look it seems Apple recommend HPs for use with iPads. I've seen this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003OG3PPE/ref=asc_df_B003OG3PPE2844582?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B003OG3PPE generally decent reviews, some have had a few issues including if, like me, you've got AVG on your 'pooters. As we've already got a half-decent Epson I'm not looking to spend too much on a wireless as it's really for the kids with their lappys and, once he's saved enough, my nippers iPad. Thanks for the advice.
  19. Ta. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9284872/Trail/searchtext>WIRELESS+PRINTER.htm#pdpFullProductInformation This one on offer at Argos right now - will have to look into if it'll work OK with an iPad as this is the main reason for going wireless.
  20. Can anyone recommend a wireless printer? Tesco/Argos have currently got a few on offer around £40-£50, namely HP 3050, Lexmark S405 and an Epson one, all similar spec but reviews say a bit juicy and expensive on the inks – but what’s new there? My nipper wants the new iPad 2 so would need to be compatible. Any suggestions? Ta.
  21. If you want a local one then the 'Jewel of India' (near the 'Two Brothers' Townhill) is worth a visit, very good quality food. And not a lot wrong with Kuti's.
  22. From what I saw nearby in Block 35, he just seemed to be swinging his arms about trying to get fans stood up and going again in (probably the only) one brief moment the atmosphere dropped off in that section. His (I believe) Dad quickly joined in but the alcohol appeared to get a grip of the lad and his mouth got a bit carried away. This upset the guy next to them who had a young kid with him and it quickly escalated from there and more got involved until they were pulled out. Shame, it picked up again after that and didn't stop!
  23. What a shame the caring Mr Scudamore wasn't around a few years ago when Aldershot were allowed to go to the wall. Oh, of course, they weren't part of the Premier League brand so he wouldn't have give a fu........................................
  24. Have a look at picture No.2 - who'd have thought eh? Eddie Mitchell in Saints scarf enjoying our promotion. And we all thought he didn't like us!
