Actually some scientists are concerned that in a couple of years or so there will be a major solar flare from the Sun. This has happened twice in the last 150 years or so without causing much damage. However these days with the reliance on electrical systems it could be very very serious as it could wipe out the power lines and transformers and also stuff up the on board computers in cars and aircraft etc. I don't like the idea of going back to live like people did in the mid 1800s. http://www.unknowncountry.com/dreamland/?id=447

This is an altogether different table from the one going around a couple of years ago!!!!! Take a look at this short video from PBS. This is a program about a touch-table.
