How can you possibly say that? Have not heard ANY of the recent Adkins interviews? He has openly come and said that that he wanted us to be in contention (his words - in the top ten) in the new year. More recently he has said, again his words - we want to win this league. So please stop being such a "look at me, being all negative and wanting all the attention" and just get behind the team. Do you really think that we arent looking at bringing anybody else in? If we don't it would not be not trying!

So gods sake mods please close this thread. By all means re-open it IF something happens, but this is boring beyond belief and the last few posts have had nothing to do with Hooper but dialougue between a few posters.

Here is cotterils view.... Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cotterill criticised Southampton's bench for their conduct after having skipper Luke Chambers sent off. Forest were trailing 1-0 when Chambers was given his marching orders four minutes into the second half and Southampton went on to comfortably win 3-0. The Forest defender was shown a straight red card for an alleged elbow on Saints striker David Connolly. Southampton boss Nigel Adkins had no doubt that Chambers deserved the red card, arguing: "I have seen the incident again and it was definitely a sending-off - but I (also) thought so at the time." But Cotterill was upset at the reaction of the visitors' bench following the flashpoint incident that did nothing to help Forest out of their critical position. He said: "Luke doesn't think he elbowed their player. I couldn't complain about it because from where I was I couldn't see properly but I was annoyed at the way people were in the fourth official's ear. "I don't think it is right. People should walk away from it and leave it to the referee. What I do know is that we should have had a free-kick just before that for a foul on Marcus Tudgay and if the referee had blown for that, the incident wouldn't have happened. Sorry has he actually signed yet for them? ......I know we had supposedly spoke to him a while back before his personal tragedy.nbut Southampton is not that bad a place to live. Like I said earlier I wold like to the that we would still want to talk to hm once more before he makes a decision. However I cod understand him choosing Leicester over us only fr the travelling. The thing could be first team action for players coming in. Because we have such a tight nit squad breaking in to the team may be a problem for who ever comes in. They may feel that they are worth an instant starting place and the thought of warming a bench is not as attractive as earning a bit less but playing.

I would certainly like to see Saints talk to the player again. Find out a bit more about him and see if we convince him that its not all about money. Could we offer 20k now with a guaranteed extra IF we get promoted??
