We just dont support a team that wins leagues, regardless of the quality of that league. Although we were favs to win it, Southampton and 1st place never seem to go together.

Exactly, I don't think people are coming at it from the angle of being 'put out', but rather have differing views on how best to deal with the situation. I happen to think that it would have been best to go out and get three points on Saturday. To me this is preferable in terms of 'paying my respects' than ten days of unsettling speculation that is now going to fill the gap that a football match would have otherwise done.

Not sure why being 'totally respectful' and playing on Saturday have to be mutually exclusive.

Personally I find these post Diana public displays of mourning a little embarrassing. Maybe it's a generation thing, but I tend to favour the good old British mentality of 'keep calm and carry on'. Each to their own I guess, but I dont think I ever 'grieved' someone I've never met, and doubt I ever will. This is not to be confused with paying one's respects of course.
