  1. Didn't Guan suggest some months back that Saints thought that Koeman wouldn't commit and if so would give him a push to go rather than letting him linger around? Sure he did, and K Billy likewise. They track managers just as they track players and I would imagine they've a firm idea of who they want to speak to before appointing the next manager.
  2. They're clear Reed appointments, surely? Both English coaches and both with FA connections, as with Les Reed. Pretty sure they were Reed's 'men on the ground' to assist Ronald, Erwin and Jan when they came to England. I would think they'll stay here.
  3. I think, based on that £7m figure, that Koeman would become the 6th richest manager in the world? (behind Guardiola, Mourinho, Ancelotti, Zidane and Wenger)
  4. Their owner also has continuing business interests whereas, as far as I'm aware, Katharina has just what she got from her father's estate.
  5. Everton are offering Koeman: - £7m per season - £100m budget - 100% of whatever Lukaku goes for - new stadium guarantee Kenwright confident that by Monday that Koeman will be their new boss. Story: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/southamptons-ronald-koeman-poised-become-8104214
  6. Roger Schmidt. Alternatively, Andre Schubert? (although it could be a bit too early with him) Marcelino from Villarreal?
  7. 'Dutch media are certain' - one person has tweeted it, his own employer hasn't turned it into an article, as far as I can see nobody is providing any fresh information other than regurgitating the details of that tweet from De Wit. Meanwhile, the Liverpool Echo are saying that tweet's claims are 'wide of the mark'. Go figure...
  8. Huh? The Liverpool Echo is saying that Everton will have to convince him to come to them. That implies the opposite, to my mind.
  9. Also says he will need convincing to leave Southampton. Glass half full/empty, however you choose.
  10. Liverpool Echo say this morning's tweet from the Dutch journalist is 'wide of the mark'. Kenwright and Mohsiri (new investor) aren't even in the area. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-manager-latest-koeman-monchi-11420014
  11. Krychowkiak woooaaaah Krychowkiak woooaaaah He comes from err Polski He ****ing hates Pompey
  12. Sky Sports writing about the betting situation on SkyBet and then finishing with trying to tempt punters to give them more money. Hmm...
  13. So true. What do people make of Felix Magath's tenure so far? A bit of an improvement on the Paul Hart era, eh?!
  14. Nope, it's a load of filler. Para one: representatives of Koeman said to be speaking to Everton (according to other sources - so presumably De Wit) Para two: summary of Koeman with Saints so far in his two seasons Para three: dramatic spiel about Everton not giving up on Koeman Para four: summary of Koeman's managerial career
  15. It's someone running a live feed, so people keep checking back, giving them more clicks and more £££. Recent 'updates' include... "According to this Dutch journalist, he is set to sign with Everton..." and "According to Wikipedia" Nothing more from the LE itself. Utter trash.
  16. I have five questions to ask. And five facts to present. Questions 1 - How comes there are no quotes from Koeman's agent (Rob Janssen of Wasserman) if he's supposedly been giving interviews today? 2 - Koeman is massive in Holland. Why is just one person over there claiming that he's on his way, yet no one else is covering it? 3 - Story was only briefly in today's Mirror. Still no other coverage elsewhere at the moment. All very quiet here and in Holland. Why? 4 - Doesn't seem to be in-keeping in the slightest with recent statements from Les Reed and yesterday's piece in the Telegraph. Why has this come out? 5 - Why are people placing such importance on betting? If we all chuck £10 on Mancini, guess what? He'll edge in as a favourite? Facts A - Koeman only flew back from his holiday in Saint Barthélemy on Tuesday evening. It takes at least 13hrs to get back to the UK. B - Koeman and Saints directors had talks before his holiday. His agents, and lawyers, then commenced contract negotiations with Saints. C - Koeman is currently represented by Wasserman, and Rob Janssen is one of the leading agents working within Wasserman. D - A formal contract offer was made to Wasserman/Koeman, from Saints, on Friday afternoon. It's only been three working days since. E - Contract negotiations will drag, as paperwork goes back & forth countless times with alterations to wording, details, numbers. Summary It's way too early to be fretting over this. People saying 'reports in the Dutch press' and the like are just fuelling it and giving it more legs. One guy over there has said it - as I said, feels odd considering it's Koeman - and no one over here (Merseyside or south coast based) is saying anything. Let's wait and see...
  17. Which begs the question: why are the British media not reporting it...? Let's hold those horses.
  18. Ronald and Les et al had conversations and meetings at the end of the season and Ronald then went on holiday to St. Barth's. Last Friday, after spending a couple of days in talks with Wasserman (the agency representing Ronald) and with lawyers, Saints made a formal contract offer to Wasserman/Koeman. It has been three working days since the contract offer, with today being the fourth. Ronald flew back from his holidays on Tuesday evening, getting home on Wednesday. Not really been dragging on as long as you think.
  19. Koeman swapped Guido Albers for Rob Janssen of Wasserman agency in the past month or so.
  20. Made me smile when Shearer said that Gazza would wake the England squad up by absolutely blasting out 'Three Lions' in the hotel during the morning.
  21. Channel 4: “You’ve spoken about how you’re opposed to TTIP, if that deal had already been signed would you still be campaigning for a remain vote?” Corbyn: “That’s a hypothetical question if I may say so…” Channel 4: “And you could say that’s weak support…” Corbyn: “…no, it’s just telling you it’s a hypothetical question, actually.” Now talking about TTIP, the environment, trade and workers rights at length.
  22. Corbyn now taking questions from the press and members of the public. ITV: "Labour voters are split on the EU and many voters don't actually know where the party stands on this, with three weeks to go can you honestly say that everyone is aware and you have campaigned as well as you can?" - (para) Corbyn: "Well it's partly down to how much the media report what the Labour Party says..."
  23. Cameron and Corbyn speaking about why they're backing a 'remain' vote today. Live stream and coverage here: http://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2016/jun/02/eu-referendum-live-cameron-and-corbyn-make-the-case-for-remain-separately?CMP=twt_gu
