Well, that was the point I was trying to make. I am not convinced we can play 433 with Gaston anyway.

Some perspective for the season-long journey

Nothing to do with positivity or negativity. Its a realistic take on where we are now. Deal with it. -
This. He cant do the job NC (allegedly) expects of him, so he should do what he can and be damned for it. If NC is forcing 433 to accomodate Gaston, he should do it immediately in order to get some results ahead of Gaston coming back. If we then hold up the results with Gaston present, then great. If we dont, he can point this out to NC.

Yep. I also view the BBC as a long-cherised institution, thats why I find its fall from grace so upsetting, but its so complacent and arrogant that its doing NOTHING to turn the clock back and get its house in order. I posted a topic that is worthy of discussion, and naturally started it with my own opinion. I dont understand the need for personal abuse. Do any of you REALLY think the BBC will sort its sh*t out ? The political will isnt there inside it to do so.

Something doesnt ring true in this "not closing deals" theory for me. We are talking about NC, the guy who dropped Elliot Ward off a tower block when it suited him. This dude has a Plan B, C and D. Personally, I simply believe not enough importance was placed on defensive reinforcement over the summer. I'll bet NC had a Plan B for Gaston (if he wasnt already the Plan B)...

Independent article sums it up perfectly

I think you missed the sarcasm, Charles. -
Horse, bolt, stable door. A dozen more games before then. NA loves playing players out of position more than Burley. He should try to tap into the hidden CB in some of his players.
-
Has to be Hoddle. I can think of no other manager on the planet that has even the slightest chance to sort our defensive mess out.
-
Then the simple fact of the matter is that our management structure no longer works, and something has to be changed. And it wont be NC. FWIW, I agree with Puddings and Monkeys - NC aint stupid, if it aint broke dont fix it, so I find it hard to believe he has suddenly started interfering this year after 2 seasons of highly successful partnership and trust. I consider the rumours about NC doing to NA what Lowe did to Poortvillet to be much more likely caused by people who have a grudge with NC, like paying parking when you collect your ST *now where do I find that classic picture????
-
LOL. What we need is some nice volunteer to quote us. Really, what she came out with is such utter b*ll*cks it deserves the uptmost ridicule.
-
Maybe, just maybe, Reed and Cortese have woken up to their role in this mess. Pity its too late to do anything about it. Perhaps that is the main reason NA still has a job this morning.

Wow, you are admitting you were wrong. For that you have my respect. -
I see last week they narrowly voted to join NATO, but not to let an organisation where nuclear weapons are a corner-stone of their defensive strategy to actually station or transport such weapons through their territory, and only to actually support NATO action when the UN approves despite the fundamental "attack on one is attack on all" charter behind NATO. NATO should do the same as the EU and the Bank of England and tell these "cake and eat it" chancers to f**k off.

Its not impartial. Its not representative. Its not even working in the nations interest. Its just a sancturary for ex-Guardianista and assorted other NUJ Trotskyites who think they know what is right and best for all us stupid plebs, working to their own self-important agendas. What a tragic state a once-world-respected broadcaster has descended to. Time to put it out of its misery.

Ah, OK, it was one point of utter drivel. I thought it was two separate points.

Some perspective for the season-long journey

Here's perspective for the seasons long journey. Unless Harry Potter flies by SMS next weekend or soon thereafter and waves his magic wand over our defence, we are going to get relegated, most likely with highest goals conceeded and lowest points total ever. -
Jesus, who said that ??
-
Yep, sue's point is codswallop.
-
So he felt our CB options were strong enough ? Sackable offence. Martin going out on loan is beginng to feel like Fitz Hall being sold, and look where that ended up and why. Serious sh*t deja-vu. Fonte is Lundekvam.
-
We brought in no PL experience and the lions share of that money, no f**k it, the vast majority of that money went on the attacking players.
-
My opinion has hardened since I recalled how much of Markus's hard-earned money was spent over the summer.
-
J-Rod on the left, Yoshida as LB. I am beginning to think Burley was sane...
-
30-odd million spent during the summer, 6th largest in Europe. 40% of that is on the treatment table, and the rest are utter w*nk or being greviously mis-used.
-
What I get fed up with is knowing we are going tits-up with every fibre of my being during the summer, and getting Lesser Spotted Half-Wits arrogantly abuse me for it.
