Training Ground Development - "temporarily suspended"
alpine_saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Superb -
We spent 30m on players over the summer, but still our squad is uncompetitive. We cannot spend any money until January (even if NC is so inclined), which is rapidly looking like it will be too late. NC will have to do something well before then. You dont spend 30m to yo-yo. There will have to be some sort of change in the managing/coaching set-up. That does not necessarily mean firing anyone, but something will need to change nevertheless.

Thats not the point. Go and shift the goalposts by yourself. -

Of course I have. Whereas on the other hand you have demonstrated what a troll you are by posting more attacking me and my posts, than about the subject in hand, for the past hour. -

I rarely post direct personal abuse. With all the whining that goes onto the mods about me, I would have been gone long ago if I did. However S-Clarke is becoming more and more agressive in recent times, I've noticed. -

Great post. During the summer the top ten teams seem to buy a bit from abroad, then spend the rest of their energies shaving 0.5m lumps off transfer deals amongst themselves. We go and buy almost-unheard of players from abroad on the hope we've spotted something that might blossom under the light of the PL. Very Rupert Lowe-ish. -

Why do you persist in abusing anybody who posts something you disagree with ? -

What is with this hindsight crap from you today ? I followed the game partly, followed the comments, and concluded that Chaplow would have been a better option in midfield for the second half than Ward-Prowse, and Puncheon/Mayuka were a Hail-Mary option to try to get back into the game. What is controversial about that ? -
Bloody BBC. Thanks to the pedants though...
-
Not hindsight. I started commenting on this after Euro 2012.

Shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

The fulham holding Man City to a draw and currently riding high 4th in table, you mean ??
-
We didnt bring enough PL experience in during the summer, we played a nice theoretical paper-exercise in the market. Combined with a manager with no experience at this level, it was always going to be a baptism of fire. Lets hope they all learn fast.
-
Already two others have posted that Reeves coming on wasnt anticipated. But if Clyne is injured then it was enforced. So the only thing to change the game NA can think of is Mayuka. Lets see. Personally I would have brought on him or Puncheon and Chaplow for Ward-Prowse to try to restrict the chance of a counter through the midfield.
-
So the manager should just pick his starting XI and is not compelled to try to turn games with his bench. We just wait for the starting XI to "gel", to pick up our points, and dont try anything proactively. What an odd notion
-
Well, yes, if we are losing and he doesnt move to change it using the players on the bench and the time left. "Bear sh*ts in wood" moment there....
-
Its and odd one. Mayuka and Puncheon could mix things up and make a breakthrough, and Chaplow could make our midfield a bit more robust. But NA does nowt.
-
How about you focus on the content of my posts and not on attacking me ?
-
No, but dont start whining if, as the person with ultimate responsibility to the owners for the teams performance, he does something you dont like...
-
Wouldnt you just love to know whats going on inside there ???
-
Nobody suggested "get rid quick". He's clearly one for the future, to ease in. But should he be in the starting XI (or near it) every week ? I dont think so. Suggests to me that despite our hefty summer bill, we are still weak at CM. Woudl Hammond have done worse today ?
-
Well Ward-Prowse isnt ready yet either, it seems. Are we just going to accept losing games where Cork and Morgan arent available ?
-
Why doesnt NA bring Chaplow on ?
