  1. That would get my vote.
  2. Actually, I dont think we do. Everyone is saying CB, and some pace. This will be my last summer banging on about our transfer activity. We've been through countless managers and chairmen, and now we have an apparently stable incumbent for both, if we still cannot properly prepare ourselves for the season start, especially as it is our first hard-fought for season back in the English Premier League, the top level of club football in England and arguably the world, and the unique challenges that will present, then I am forced to conclude that we will NEVER be properly prepared for a new season start.....
  3. Well, thats a surprise, along side "Bear sh*ts in wood" in terms of its sheer gravity... The BBC is a creaking, dinosaur institution that has been ruined by left-win apparatchiks and bean-counters. Its a shadow of its former self. Certain departments are still functioning reasonably well, such as sport and wildlife, but the rest of it is turning out biased, PC and dumbed down cack for the welfare/illiterate masses being churned out at the behest of the bleeding-heart hypocritical liberals.
  4. Couldnt give a monkeys what formation we put out and its flexibility/dynamism or lack thereof, we need a solid spine at the back and we havent got it. I would have spent the summer working on this before trying out various diamonds, trapeziums, christmas trees and f**k-knows what.
  5. We've bought another striker. F**k knows why. We needed a back-up GK and we bought one. He might not currently be the PL standard we need, but at least we now have more than one, and if NA thinks he can muddle by with Kelvin, thats up to him. We put in some really shaky central defence performances last season, but apparently have done little. There is not even a large string of names we've been associated with. It gives the impression of limited activity. Even if a new CB wasnt thrown straight in, at least we'd know with a new signing that our central defence weakness was address and would be improved in the short weeks ahead. At the moment we dont have a clue of the timescale involved.
  6. Come on mate, this is Saints. This is how we do it - every summer.
  7. The departure from reality down the other end of the M27 is simply breathtaking.....
  8. Kathy Cook nee Smallwood ?
  9. Sounds to me like you are trying to infer we still have debts, because it would impact the selling price of the club, and therefore the ability to sell : As for you not having to prove yourself to me, just STFU then.
  10. You havent seen the news this morning, I take it ? The Director-General of the BBC has told off the Olympic journalists for being too focused on the Brits and celebrating too much. Only in Britain.... Triggered by whining from US journalists. As clear a case of the pot calling the kettle black as I have ever seen in my life.
  11. Of course not...
  12. Its really quiet on the rumour mill, scotty. I put that down to one of three possibilites : - we have identified someone but they are abroad - our enquiries have all been knocked back - we havent got a clue who to buy
  13. Nope. I dont think so. The persisten background message from you is "we are still in debt", hence your latest tactic of going on about selling price. And people accuse me of "negativity"....
  14. Why is pointing out that we are so weak in central defence an issue of negativity ? Its a fact, FFS. The central pairing that will start the Man C game is the same one that was torn apart by Reading at SMS.
  15. I've never worked out the level of arse-kissing of the Irish that goes on in the UK.
  16. I feel genuine pity for people who need to do that. My life is too full to waste my time tracking down who-made-what-silly-comment in the heat of the moment, years in the past, that is utterly irrelevant to the current discussion , to provide personal abuse ammo for the latest dispute. Its really quite sad...
  17. Oh, I am sure they know price they would want to get. Whether they seriously think they can get a major ROI is known only to them; I am sure they know what price they are likely to get, in reality. I find this notion being expounded by you, The9 and Hypochimp that they just have to name their price, to include debt repayments, and someone will gladly hand the dosh over as quite ridiculous. For me its quite simple - if they set a price to include the recovering of the debts paid off when they took over, they will never be able to sell the club. Any buyer is only going to pay for assets and potential future revenue.
  18. Right, so there are no serious namesbeing talked about and probably therefore no immediate plans to bring someone in. I am glad you all find that situation a source of such levity....
  19. Yeah. That guy has balls.
  20. Barking..... I am going to put my house up for sale at 300K. If there is interest at that price, then I am sure that I will sell it when appropriate....
  21. Progress. The medication is up next...
  22. You're bonkers. There are enough clubs around, in and out of the PL, that can be bought into without pay over-the-odds for them.
  23. Where did I claim to know what the "market rate" for a club is ? But any serious buyer of a club is going to go in, look at the assets, look at the attendances, look at the players, etc, and calculate it for himself. If the seller has asked for 20M more than that, he will try to negotiate it down and if that is unsuccessful he will walk away. The9 is being ridiculous.
  24. At least you admit to being a troll.
  25. I just read the full list of PCC's conditions on the BBC website. This was a political smoke-and-mirrors action, a PR stunt. PST will never get that money
