Every single one of our fans needs to ask themselves the question : at what level do you want Saints to compete ? PL meaning struggle on the field and financially, or Championship, being one of the bigger fish in the pond, maybe some cup successes down the line, challenging for the titles. Yes, it revealled the lack of depth in the squad that management team should have known about and done something about. For example, Barnard has been injured for a long time, Connolly has not been reliable to be fit since he got here, and NA has had enough looks at Forte. Gonna be an interesting starting line-up tomorrow. Is Goolie really fit, as the Echo claims ?

But if you look at how many of the deck crew survived compared to the engineering crew, and even the victualling crew who would have been higher up in the hull than the engineering crew, it does look like a lot of the non-comissioned deck crew legged it. But this is much easier to see in 2012 with the aid of coallated statistics than it was in 1912; perhaps it was simply jealousy.
