  1. I was hoping that this point could be discussed sensibly, without rancour or abuse. However, the site just matches its usual standard of debate quality. Ultimately we all want to be in the Championship next season. My question refers to what route would secure the highest probability. Let's say Lallana and AOC are not ready for the next two games and are marginal for the third game, in 2.5 weeks time. Do you risk them if the last 2 games didnt yield wins, to try to keep up with the 2nd place race, and risk a longer lay off ? Or do you keep your powder dry for the playoffs, knowing full well we'd have to REALLY f**k up now to fall out of the top 6 ? Especially if Posh are winning the race for 2nd place ?
  2. Neither are we...
  3. ...and let Lallana and AOC have the time to fully recover for them, rather than risk them early, still not secure 2nd place, and they possibly get aggravations which mean they arent available for the playoff games anyway. So long as Posh get 2nd, I would be confident of getting past any two of Bournemouth, Huddersfield, MK Dons and Orient.
  4. 28. People writing 20 points are loons.
  5. Of course, you happy-clappers will be so magnanimous and not be abusive or say "I told you so" if we get promoted, right ? And I've woken up today still thinking this was an underachieving f**k-up. Deal with it.
  6. I agree completely. However, there is a definite "smug mode" happening here, where those who reckon a draw tonight will be enough for promotion in 2nd place still expect to proven correct. Of course, these morons also predicted a win against Walsall, so it will be interesting to see what else (including the blow that could lose us 2nd place) they will get wrong. Add into that the huge amount of animostiy directed towards me, where I am adamant only a win was good enough last night, and you can see the dynamic that has developed...
  7. I dunno why, but your post made me laugh.
  8. Have we or have we not f*cked two of our games-in-hand ?
  9. You are wasting your breath with sense like that on here, mate.
  10. Yet again Saints blow a golden chance to stamp our name on an automatic promotion spot. And we let a thieving reject do it to us. And we've maybe lost two of our key players for a while. Simply not good enough, the job has just become much harder. Hope some of you are pleased that you got the result you wanted.
  11. All fart and no sh*t again tonight, I see.........
  12. According to the Beeb, our sub goalie is Bart. I thought he had some sort of career-threatening injury ?
  13. Not quite, but there is a f**k of a lot of complacency around here at the moment. Lets hope the team doesnt feel it.
  14. So the consensus opinion is that it doesnt matter in the scheme of things. Thanks for confirming
  15. Nope, apparently the consensus opinion is that tonight doesnt matter in the scheme of things
  16. I complete disagree with your assertion. Only a few weeks ago we blew a shoe-in game against Walsall. That can easily happen again. You simply cannot say that a point tonight is enough, because you really dont know what is going to happen in the following games, however much you play with a predictor tool. I know deep down we wont win all 11 games. But we have to set our stall out like that is the target, and take each failure to secure 3 points really badly in order to motivate for the next game to ensure it doesnt happen again. Tonight represents such a golden chance to go second, if we dont take it because the team dont appreciate it and arent up for it, you really have to wonder how they will dig deep enough over the next 6 weeks to regain that chance and then hold on to it.
  17. Do point out where I said we were "rubbish".... Its seriously f**king hillarious when you and the other illiterate fish-wives on here get going...
  18. We have to win. 2nd place has been handed to us on a platter, FFS. We just have to reach out and grab it. If we do our thing now, NO-ONE can catch us. The team needs 100% focus and determination, none of this "if we do the math we dont need to win tonight, which is good 'cos I'm feeling a bit tired today" cr*p.
  19. Let me know when you've run out of toys and the pram needs a refill.
  20. I never tell someone that havent got a clue just because they dont agree with me, like he does frequently. Oh, and btw, if you could actually read, you would realise that some people do agree with me. Deal with it, laddie.
  21. Utter b*ll*cks from you as usual. I think my statement about the importance of our winning IS a positive statement.
  22. It could be. Sooner or later we have to put some distance between ourselves and the others. This may be the opportunity. Really, I have no time for this idiotic namby-pamby doing-the-maths sh*t that tries to rationalise why we dont need to win a game.
  23. That isnt Hoddle, FFS. Btw, seeing as the Liebherrs have made it perfectly clear by word and deed that they are a private family and wish to remain so, isnt it a bit rude to be sticking cameras into the Director's box ? Leave them alone, FFS. Have a bit of respect.
  24. What a pathetic limp-wristed unambitious opinion. We must win. This is it, our time to put some space between us and the chasing pack. We MUST sieze the opportunity if we are serious in our intent to get promoted. I keep hearing how a season is a "marathon, not a sprint". The analogy I prefer is that we are Seb Coe (not Steve Ovett, since hes from Brighton), trying to position ourselves just behind the right shoulder of the leader going into the final bend of the 1500M Olympic Final. The final bend is upon us, and the other runners have left a gap. Time to sprint for the finish line.
  25. I notice a pattern developing with you. Anyone disagrees with your vision of how things should proceed, they apparently dont have a clue about "how football works". Why dont you put a sock in it ?
